Seidio Innotraveler Car Kit for Evo - PICS/Detail

I know it's all personal preference but I like portrait navigation better as I can see farther up ahead than I normally can with the same zoom in landscape.

As someone else previously stated, I don't see the need for extra width in navigation mode.

Edit: For those that think portrait navigation is "useless" are out of your mind. I can understand personal preference, but I can't understand how you would consider portrait viewing unusable.

If it only works vertically, no sale here either........

You would think that they might do a little research before designing this,

as it seems many prefer it horizontally mounted for GPS.

I bed they did plenty of research and found just as many, if not more, would complain if it could not do portrait.

Obviously, they didn't do enough research. They should have designed it to do both.

Actually, its pretty bad.

But anywho, why can't they provide both options?

Arkon's Mega Grip mount for Evo is completely adjustable, (read: portrait, landscape and anywhere in between):

Just pop a micro usb charger in and your good to go. This works with pretty much any case too.

This website shows a converted HTC HD2 car kit for HTC EVO 4G use. Looking at the pictures, the only modification was the removal of one side of the holder to fit the EVO width. Apparently the Micro USB charging port moves as well.

Here is what he wrote:

As I am an impatient gadget lover, I decide to study the HTC car kit that was designed for HD2. To my surprise the microUSB charging port on the bottom of the car dock moves from left to right and vice versa.

Now, why would HTC design a charging dock with moving charging port? In my opinion it is so that they can use this dock for other HTC device by just making different mounts (phone holders), like HD2, Nexus One, HTC Desire, and HTC EVO 4G. The next thing I had to do is break one side of the holder (so that my HTC EVO fits into it). Just a suggestion, do not try this at home!

To make the long story short, I converted the HTC HD2 car kit by breaking one side of the holder grip and I now have an HTC car kit that charges my HTC EVO and activates the NaviPanel app immediately after docking the phone.

Stephanie: Great, what can I help you with today?
Stephanie: Tho Innotraveler Car Kit is still under development. We dont have an ETA as of now, but if you sign up at evo4g@seidio.com you will receive our latest updates for your Evo accessories.
Stephanie: Is there anything else that I can help you with?
Customer57: Okay... do you know if the accessory goes from portrait to landscape?
Customer57: It states in the description, "Has a ball joint that allows for multiple viewing angles" But the pictures only show it in the portrait position. Is landscape possible?
Stephanie: I see exactly what you are saying, Let me check on that for you to make sure.
Customer57: Thank you.
Stephanie: One moment please.
Stephanie: It is only vertical. You could turn it, but we do not recommend it because ofopenning on top.
Stephanie: Was I able to answer all of your questions?
Customer57: Yes... thanks for the help. Have a good day.
