Sense reboots

The sense reboots and the fact the slowley losing memory is killing me. Made this phone almost unusable.

Go to the HTC site, fill out a contact form and complain. Maybe they will listen. The consolidateion thread on the EVO 4G Sprint site I think was starte about 6/23-so it's been over a month now and HTC hasn't provided a fix yet. When you send them the contact EM, when they return the canned response back to you, email them back and complain again.

You would think SPRINT would be on our side and lean on HTC...but who knows. We should complain to them also.

It's probably a plot to get us all to buy new phones. :D

Here is HTC's reply to my complaint about the sense reboots
Thank you for yourresponse. Unfortunately, there isnoway for you to revert back to the Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform.I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have causedyou. Currently, we are investigating this issue. We thank youforyour patience and please keepaneye on HTC.com and our official Facebook and Twitter pages for updates and announcements about yourdevice.

I've been doing this and they keep telling me it's my fault. I'd like to see other peoples responses.
If you take a look at page 4, I posted a response that I got regarding SAFE BOOT, etc. I never tried it because I don't believe that's the problem. It's something with GB.

I have started using Launcher Pro, and while it still crashes, it at least reboots within a few seconds making it a little less annoying.

I finally gave up and started using LauncherPro as well. I am fine with what the free version, coupled with the free version of Fancy Widgets, brings to the table. After installing SwitchPro ($0.99) I am fairly happy with it.

I miss the Sense calendar widget, but it looks like there is a similar one in the paid version of LauncherPro. I will investigate that after I play around with it for a bit.

I have not notices any crashes yet :fingerscrossed: ;)

i just started having the same issue recently or at least havent noticed it until recently. I've been using go launcher, and every time i go to my home screen from a app, it seems that my shortcuts and widgets on my home screens are reloading, and when i went to sense ui it got even worse, i would get the white screen with the htc logo. I also tried adwlauncher ex and am having the same reloading issue of my shortcuts and widgets... i am also having a drain on my memory and dont know were it is coming from, i have uninstalled all of the new apps that i have downloaded in the past couple of weeks with no success finding the problem, i have done a factory reset/wipe, also resulting in failure! also tried the fast reboot option that was mentioned in this thread to no avail, really getting frustrating, anyone else have any luck with this issue short of smashing your phone on the floor?

^ I went to the Sprint Store on Saturday and they exchanged it for me.

We will see how long this one last.
Can't wait for GB to be rooted

It seems like everything I do causes sense to reboot, this is very frustrating. It is times like this that make me never want to purchase another htc product. I hope they come out with a fix soon, and for those that are going to say it I am not really into the rooting thing.

Actually, there is finally a solution to this problem if you are willing to root your phone... I just rooted mine for the first time given the last exploit, and have managed to find a solution to everything they screwed up except the disappearing storage space and speech to text snafu...

Anyway, if you are willing to root, this should solve the rebooting sense issue. I installed it yesterday, and not a single reboot yet... Which is quite a relief, because I was ready to smash my phone to pieces...

Opened a ticket with HTC a while back, told them the first solution (which was posted here) didn't work, the second solution was for me to put the phone in some sort of safe mode. Which I didn't do. The sent me a survey, which I gave all negative/unsatisfactory feed back. They just called me because of it to see what could be done to change my mind, I stated release the fix instead of having me wipe my phone. In the end he stated they are working on a fix to be released soon (no date when, just soon) and its on the top of their list.

I was having the VERY same problem until I rooted my Evo... every since then, no Sense reboots. The problem only started occurring after I took the recent OTA update.

So, do alternate launchers fix this sense restarting problem or not?

I read through this entire threat: is rooting or diff launcher or removing lookout the solution?

I use muticon and have 42 of my favorite apps crammed on one home screen.

Will launcher pro work with multicon ?

I'm sick of the sense reboots. I might uninstall lookout and try a launcher if u think that will help.

Thx

Mike

I been having these problems too. I wanted to root my Evo to see if these reboots stop. Could someone tell me if i can root my evo on 2.3.3? I heard its possible using Revolutionary? Thanks for your help!. because this is annoying x/.

It is possible... and it's easy (my first time - piece of cake)... and not a single freaking restart since (no pun intended).
