Same here, far northern burbs. I just tried power cycling and then pulling my battery out for a minute and as suggested from a post on Engadget and still nothing. I wonder what gives.

I believe I had the notification blinking before but wasnt looking for an update until I heard the podcast today. it downloaded and rebooted then hung up for a while and I powered down and powered up agian and checked to see if media hub was up and running and the version #
firmware 2.1 update 1

I like that they fixed the screen scrolling so that you can stop without opening items. It was a pain in the butt on my contacts I would touch the side of the screen to move up or down and it would open up the contact I didn't want.

my ota finally showe up 14 hours after my wife's...haven't noticed much different yet. I doubt I will use media hub as it is all paid and the tv shows are way over priced. That is what a dvr is for. I would suggest they offer some freebies along the way as it will get people to look at mh more and then they might get more buys. Btw it seems odd you can't just have purchases go to your sprint bill instead of a cc. Or am I missing something?

Media hub is pretty sweet. The quality is amazing. Will probably rent a movie on 4G just for kicks.

Still nothing here... I even tried to do the manual update but it said verification failed every time I tried

In my task manager there's been an app called "System Updates" running for the last 2-3 days though. Not sure what it is...but it hasn't been doing much apparently :/

Mine finally worked. I kept trying pulling the battery out and keeping it out for a minute or so and then putting it back in and then going to "update Android" through system updates with either 3G or 4G enabled and I kept getting nothing so by process of elimination, I enabled wifi, yanked the battery, kept it out for a minute and then put it back in and rebooted and went back to "update Android" through system updates and BAM, there it was.

Now for the sake of curiosity, I wonder if all of us that have the Epic's that seem to always be way over 50% without a signal unless we either toggle airplane mode or do the PRL update tricks are the ones that were having an issue with getting the update? I have one of those flaky Epic's with the bunk firmware as well and I usually have to PRL update daily so my phone doesn't keep searching for a WCDMA signal.

DON"T INSTALL THIS update! It makes your screen dimmer. See my other thread on this issue. AUTO BRIGHTNESS now defaults to the lowest setting indoors.

I'm ok with this. Saves battery and I've always felt like the screen was extremely bright even at the lowest setting indoors.

Well it's lowest right now in day time indoors, with a 100W bulb going over head. Even if I hold the phone up to the bulb, it stays at the lowest setting. I have to go outside and 10 sec later the screen gets brighter.

Samsung pulled a POS on us.
