Shipping notification....Who's first?

Ordered it on 7th, but cancelled it due to there being no official release date. Re-ordered it from amazon.

Not sure if anyone has said this already but I went to my local sprint store and spoke with the manager, according to him, it looks like the national launch will be next Wednesday the 23rd. Not sure how valid his information is (he seemed to be about as intelligent as a rabid squirrel, slightly) but at least that's something I guess.

He also offered to give me a car dock for free when and if they get them in, if I provide him with free coffee for a month (I run a couple of coffee ships)..fingers crossed.

I just received an email seconds ago from BestBuy stating that the new release date is 5/23 so hopefully it is only a couple of days then.

That would be awesome, as RS has not sent me any updates about the release.

Which is all speculation. They are hoping the issue is resolved by then. If the issue is resovled tonight why not have the launch be Monday? It doesn't make sense to pull out of thin air Wednesday the 23rd.

I think there's progress on those who ordered from Sprint. The credit on my account is gone again. Yesterday there was a credit, it disappeared on Tuesday when they could have been processing orders. Keeping my fingers crossed.

to make sure that all the stores have the phone. i dont know if ups operates over the weekend. they arent gonna make a release date when not every store has it. making wednesday the release date also gets the phone in the hands of the pre-order people first, which they wanted to do...

Same here. The credit was there this morning but has since been removed. Things are looking good

If the national launch phones are still sitting in a shipping container, it's going to take time to get them all separated for the thousands of outlets that will be selling the phone.

Three business days is not unreasonable.

I agree, the new release date seems pretty speculative, and is highly dependent on the hoped for outcome that the issue with ITC can be resolved quickly, so that they can start shipping pre-orders "on Monday or earlier."

However, assuming that they are able to begin shipment on Monday, the Wednesday launch date does make sense, as they need enough time to make sure all the stores have enough stock for the official launch.


*sigh* The bottom line is, we won't know anything for certain until we get our grubby hands on our pre-ordered phones.

I think the 23rd would be a good date. It gives enough time to communicate to people that were interested in the phone to be reeled back in, enough time to open pre-orders again until maybe Monday, enough time to get handsets shipped and in stores and possible have enough on hand to meet the demand, that they were not able to do with the EVO4G. Lets all hope we get tracking numbers tonight. I'm off the ledge and back on watch

I agree. They wouldn't just bump it to Sat or Mon unless they could really distribute to all the pre-orders and stores in time.

If the 5/23 date is true I expect pre-orders to receive the phone on Monday if not Saturday. This will also allow sprint to ups the phones to their retail locations and to the third party vendors. Modern logistics is pretty insane.
