Should I buy htc 10 or else samsung galaxy s7?

If having a phone that can get wet is important s7 is the only option. In the battery life department the s7 edge beats the m10 although both are quite good. Complaints about lag on the s7 are not true. That only applies to the s6 which had 3gigs of memory and not 4 like the s6 edge. I like the m10, I may even prefer it to s7 but some of the fan boy comments in this thread are way misleading about the s7.

If you embrace lag and bloatware, go with Samsung.
Otherwise, HTC is the one to pick =)

There is no lag on the S7 Edge.
Admittedly apps could be streamlined to reduce bloat but a lot can be disabled or hidden pretty easily and storage or RAM are not problems.

Battery life on the S7 Edge is stellar. I regularly get 6 hours SOT and standby (doze) works just fine unless you have something misbehaving.

You got lucky!

That's not what I saw!

Luck got nothing to do with it, it's an excellent device, you simply haven't tried it, you keep talking about past experiences with past Samsung devices. I could have said the same with the horrible experiences I had with the poor quality control on the M7 and the shameful battery life and camera experience I had with the M8, without mentioning the open and great dislike I feel for the Sense skin, but I don't buy based on past experiences, I gave HTC another chance and I wasn't disappointed this time, after installing Nova launcher I'm keeping this one, but my daily driver is still the S7 edge as I consider is a better device, and simply the best there is right now.

I did try it so yes, it's a past experience.

Yeah. Who are you to doubt that?
I think that, between you and I, I'm the best placed to know that.

Me, I'm just an owner of both phones who can easily tell you that you are wrong. He was not lucky, you should be the unlucky guy that got a defective, laggy and slow S7 or S7 edge, if you say so, because the rest of the millions of S7/S7 edge owners out there, including myself and 4 other members of my 7 family plan phones, have almost perfect, smooth and lag free S7 and S7 edge phones.

You don't like Samsung, that's good, you can keep on bashing them on every single post that mentions the latest Samsung flagships, but don't get upset when people like me just call you out with simple facts, that's how forums work.

As for me, this is the last time I waste my time and energy on this topic with you, I don't need to keep talking about something that just fan boys or people with avatar like yours can't accept, Samsung made a heck of a great phone this time around, you can like it or not, that's the greatness of Android and its choices.

So, see you around...

You don't like Samsung, that's good, you can keep on bashing then on every single post that mentions the latest Samsung flagships, but don't get upset when people like me just call you out with simple facts, that's how forums work.

I'm a gal. Mine was laggy as heck and I have friends and relative with the same issue. I, indeed, don't have Samsung in my heart. I have an LG G3 and really love it, but you might not and you're entitled to your opinion, like I am. It's not bashing. That's how forums work. Don't post if you can't accept people have opinions and preferences.

This is the last time I waste my time and energy on this topic with you too so that's a good thing!

See you around

I couldn't leave it there with me saying you guy instead of gal... I'm so sorry I didn't know it and I didn't want to offend.

Anyways for the benefits of other people reading this that may get confused on your definition on bashing and opinions, an opinion sounds something like: For me all Samsung phones are Laggy... But when you say:

If you embrace lag and bloatware, go with Samsung.*
Otherwise, HTC is the one to pick =)

And then you reply to a post saying that a S7 is working great by saying: You got lucky!, it hardly sounds like an opinion and more like a bashing, hence my reactions to your posts.

But hey, at least we can agree that we can simply ignore each other and go on with our lives.

We can certainly give you pointers or suggestions regarding which phone to get; but ultimately, the choice is yours. Watch unboxing videos on YouTube and try out the two phones in store. Also, if you find yourself unable to choose between the two, maybe go back to the drawing board and see if there is something else you like that may suit your needs even better.

Good luck, and let us know what you've decided! :)

I'm currenty using the iPhone 6s plus and the Galaxy S7. I loved the battery life on my iPhone but overall, I prefer to carry the s7 around with me. The s7 is the right size for me, the screen is so much better to look at, there are no lag and I notice that sometimes it's too fast, the battery life is pretty good and I'm medium to heavy user (loved to play games on my phone and surf). I have not tried the htc 10 but I had a htc before but with just one ram. I've seen and read reviews for both and some comparison and overall, the s7 seems to be a little better. You can't go wrong with either one but Samsung seems to offer a lot more than HTC.

touchwiz does NOT lag on the S7. I use it daily. You comment would have been true 2 years ago.

The S7 is the best phone ever. in this forum, you will see nothing but samsung haters.
Battery life is excellent. the is ZERO lag. after I disabled and deleted all the apps that come of all android carrier phones, I had less than 1 page of apps in the app drawer.
Bloatware depends on the carrier. Most of samsung's stuff is now downloadable on the samsung app store instead of pre installed.
Not saying the HTC 10 sucks. Never owned one. but I will say the S7 is absolutely fantastic. Best phone I have ever used, and I have used everything except HTC phones. (camera's have sucked for so long that HTC was never an option) The new cam, not bad. still not better than the S7.

yeah the standby phone just like most Samsung phones is not so good. It sucks battery even if you don't touch it. That's why I sold my S7 after a week and lost 25% of its value

like now with the HTC 10, after heavy usage at the end of the day, I am still @ 50% battery life.

Please don't make a generalisation that "most Samsung phones is not so good":
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/686942-battery-life-beast.html#post5218628

The vast majority of people I know who use the S7 report excellent battery life. Standby times are excellent too, as noted in the above link. If your experience is different, it's almost certainly due to a faulty device or badly configured apps.

I had an S7 and sold it after a week as it's battery sucks and standby time is horrible. In addition, all Samsung phones give me weaker radio (cell signal) reception. It is full of bloatware and gets updates the last.

Stick to the HTC 10, it's better in every aspect, better battery, stock Android experience, no duplicate apps for everything thanks to no bloatware from HTC, awesome camera and a better front facing 5MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization.

Best of all, its battery life is night and day better than the S7. I had to charge my S7 3 times per day and yes all apps background refresh was off and I set Doze to always optimize all apps, it's something with its radio that sucks the battery like no tomorrow. With the HTC 10, I charge it once every 1.5 days

Never buying a Samsung phone again personally.

Did you happen to get the update on the s7? The battery drain issue has been address a long time ago.

The s7 battery performance has been amazing for me.

I'm also debating on picking up the 10 just for fun and root.

I think you'll be happy with whichever you choose.

back then when I had it there were no updates bro

HTC10- solid build quality, better battery life, better audio, and the haptic feedback and UI just feels better to me.

Unless your priority is the camera, the HTC10 was a hair slower than my S6 to open and focus- and the S6 missed focus a lot less. S6 was sharper 90% of the time Whatever oleophobic coating they used on the HTC is not as good as the Samsung and I was constantly getting smudges on the lens that created lens flare. I assume the S7 widens that gap.

Dude it's fine that you had a bad experience and you are talking based on that, but don't speak as if it's a fact. Every phone can have a rogue app, all our Android phones, some more than others, come from factory with tons of unnecessary apps and services running all time, best you can do for yourself is simply remove all bloatwares and services you won't use or need.

So, with that said, no, it's not true that all Samsung phones drain battery on standby mode, my S7 edge can be in standby for 8 hours while I sleep and it just uses 4-5% battery life, the same than the S7 I also had and gave with the Jump ON Demand to get the HTC 10. The battery life on the HTC 10, is basically the same for me than it was when I had the S7, so it's very good for both, but the Note 5 and the S7 edge are in another league.

So like I said, it's fine that you had a very bad experience and are talking because of it, but saying that All Samsung phones have the same problems you had is just wrong and not true.
Snapping Phoenix just hates Samsung so he is trying so hard to convince people not to buy Samsung products. I love my Samsung s7e its by far the best phone out. I can see why Samsung outsells any phone out including iPhone.
