Should I buy htc 10 or else samsung galaxy s7?

Can't go wrong with either. My lady has the S7 and I think it's a very nice phone even though I don't really care for the design of touchwiz but man does it feel nice in hand. I would opt for the HTC 10 in your shoes.

I can agree with some of those reasons, the fingerprints all over the front and back on the S7 gets into my nerves and the Audio from the earphones is great, but just via the earphones because I'm not impressed with the speakers.

But to be fair, the following video is better for direct comparisons because the guy did both videos with the 15 reasons for each phone.

**NOTE** Just a quick note, for those of you that will watch the 15 reasons in pro of the HTC 10 over the S7, there are a couple of those that the guy missed on the S7 that are on the Advanced options or hidden very deep on some menus but in general is a pretty good comparison between this 2 phones.

I have the S7 and my gf tried out the 10 before going with the S7 edge. She's a long time M8 user and loved HTC. That being said, she's prefers the design of the edge. While she was trying out the 10, I noticed a couple of things. Battery life is not much better on the 10 than the S7. And the edge is head and shoulders above both. My S7 battery life is a little longer than the 10. I end up with about 20% left at the end of 13-14hrs with about 2-3hrs of screen time. The HTC 10 would be a little less. That was consistent with me. The S7 is smaller and fit in my one hand much more comfortably. The 10 is a bit bigger and closer in size to the edge than the regular S7. With that in mind, my gf preferred the S7e screen. She preferred the speakers on her m8. The 10 speakers while better than Sammy, doesn't come close to the sound on the m8. She was very disappointed with that. As she said, there was nothing about the 10 that jumped out at her that she preferred over the edge. It's been a month now for her and a couple of months for me with Sammy devices and I'm glad to report no slowdowns, no lag, quick updates, and still not regretting getting the S7.

I haven't read anywhere saying that the m9 camera was good. The s6 is 16mp so in daylight it will produce more detail than the s7's 12mp esp when you crop. I have both phones. The speed of samsungs recents cameras put them well past the m9s inferior toshiba sensor.

I got attracted to HTC 10 because of its metal unibody build. S7E seems to be prone to scratch or shatter, isn't that a big advantage of HTC 10 over S7E? How come nobody in this thread seems to mention that?

Is HTC 10 just as easy to scratch or shatter so you have to put a case around it anyway?

Yea you are going to be alone on this front. You are like the literal outlier on this front

The s7e is the singularly best phone i have used this year (and i have used a lot between all the flagships). The battery life is just simply put incredible. All day long on LTE with dualsim using whatsapp, reading my feeds, twitter, music streaming and am left with 30-35 percent at end of the day (i work 14-16 hours)

Plus really does anything more need to be said about its camera? Fast, decent and gets a great 99.9995 percent of the time. Great manual mode, if you prefer that. The display is simply unmatched.

As for lag.. what lag? It's as bad or good as the Nexus 6p on the last 6.01 release, which is my other driver. I am literally hard pressed to find anything even remotely assembling 'bloatware' on this device. This must be your carrier thing.

Anyway so happy i made the choice for this exynos option. It's delivered in spades!

I totally agree that the finger print sensor on the 10 is MUCH better

No. The standby time on the Samsung phone is fantastic. Snappy Phoenix probably had a defective unit. I have absolutely no problems with either my S7 or S7 edge lasting a full day on a single charge.

I've had 3, and loved them. The only one I've had that didn't exceed my expectations was the A9. And it only missed it by a few issues.

I wouldn't turn away the S7 or S7E if someone gave it to me.

Had the s7 edge and by no means is the standby time bad! Would lose about 3% overnight but the 10 and my lg g4 would only lose about 1%

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is far faster, much better looking and camera is the best of any phone to date. I own both the HTC & SGS7. The S7 with a dbrand sticker on back feels like part of your hand. Best phone I ever owned, I think I've had them all. Good Luck.

I have both as well and as nice as the 10 is, I just can't see a reason to go with it over the S7. The screen isn't as nice (and I prefer LCD over AMOLED). It's not any faster (I've had my S7 since launch and it still does not lag like all the TW haters claim). It feels better naked b/c of the aluminum back rather than the fingerprint-happy glass on the S7, but for me that's about the only positive - and I feel the need to use a case anyway because of the protruding camera. The speaker on the 10 is better than the S7, but not that much (like the M8/M9 were). The S7, for me, is a better size as well. Battery life on both is comparable. And the S7 is water/dust resistant with a better camera.

Both great phones, I just don't see any pragmatic reason, besides simple personal preference, to go with the 10 over the S7.
