Should I get a Nexus or get something else?

Try checking out the Galaxy Note. Yeah you said smaller and this thing is HUGE, but try playing around with one at the att store. I did and I could get used to it real easy. The ppl in the Note forum gush on this phone.

But yeah if smaller is your thing this is definitely not for you.

Thanks for the reply. I did take a look at the Galaxy Note, but like you suspected it was a bit too big for me. I am having a friend let me play with his GN this evening. Hopefully that will help me decide whether the GN is still the phone for me.

You like to make grandiose statements based simply off of your paradigm. Instead making absolutes, stick to your own opinions and experiences. You do not speak for the majority.

I don't care who I speak for, majority or minority. This is a thread asking if he should get a nexus or something else. So I am participating in it and sharing my own experiences. If you don't like it - don't read it.
FWIW when I came to the store to return my 4th POS, the store manager told me that most of the ones they sold came back returned for the same issues I've been having.

What's with this blind fanboyism, I feel like I am on BGR knocking the iPhone.

There is no fanboyism. Commenting on posts that contain ridiculous, false, and inaccurate statements does not = fanboyism.

Every phone has its share of issues. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, especially given how quickly they crank new phones out.

I love my GN. Got it on release day and unlocked/rooted/rommed it the same day. I have been fortunate not to have the issues that many other GN owners have.

My boyfriend just decided to switch to back to an Android phone from his iphone because he wanted flash. He has had Android phones in the past (Thunderbolt, Captivate), but loved his iphone because it synced with his other Apple products and never had issues. He was looking into getting the GN or the Rezound and noted that after checking out forums for both, the GN owners had more issues.

I talked him into getting the GN and trying it out. I reminded him that my GN hasn't had those issues. So I picked up a new GN for him, unlocked, rooted, and put the same rom and kernel that I had and sure enough his phone started having random reboots/shutdowns and dropping data.:'(

Initially I had the 4.0.4 radio on his phone, then we tried 4.0.2 and finally with 4.0.3 he seems to be dropping data less often, but it still happens. We'll be in the same place and my phone will be fine while his drops data. His phone kept getting stuck on the boot animation so I also changed his rom and kernel.

He's not sure whether he wants to keep it or switch to a Rezound. Now I honestly don't think I can recommend the GN to other people.

I hope you're not talking about my posts, 'cause I'm not alone with the problems in just this one thread let alone the whole GN forum.
I wanted to love the phone that's why I stuck around replacing one GN after another 3 times.
And guess what, paying 650$ without a contract for this phone buys me the right to express wtf I want about it.
The phone is great if it works but the quality control is absent.
