Silence unknown calls

I have lots of recruiters, insruance providers etc calling me. So much annoyance I put my phone on silence - but then I don't hear my wife ringing!
Can I eg make everything silence except one number, or ring except it's on my contact list?

I would say you have a few options. You can keep your phone on silent all the time, get a do not disturb app, and whitelist your wife. Or, you can create a ringtone of a silent room and set that as a ringtone for each of the contacts you don't want to answer.

I would like any number that is not on my contact list be on silent. So the second option would not work. For the first option can you recommend a do not disturb app?
