So, you want to root your phone even after the latest firmware update? I don't know if the original poster's method will work, but the method I used, which involves using Odin and a custom recovery will work. Hey there,
I am pretty new to this, but could you let me know if this would work on a canadian sII? model number is gt-i9100m, which seems to be the same as a skyrocket here in the states. I am just looking for access to rootfiles, hopefully to download somthing like marketfree to force non-us apps to work, specifically fongo.

la93, if you read the very first post from the link I provided, the original poster said that the instructions apply to Rogers (Canada) as well.

@lloo33 and Peggy kapooklook--running the runme.bat will open up a Windows terminal screen (see my attachment). Follow the instructions on that screen, press a key when you're ready, then go from there. I personally didn't run this beyond that page as my Skyrocket is already rooted via a different method (see my earlier post and link), but I'm assuming this way works as the OP stated.

Chrome browser told me that the DooMLoRD_v2_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip file is malicious malware and blocked it...
