So I tried to return my Nexus.

Imo, if the don't already they should state that online (and not just on the fine print) at checkout or in the cart.

LOL! Nobody tricked Verizon. We called and asked for a feature and were given it. No tricks, no lies, no subversion. Just a simple request that was granted by an authorized agent of the corporation. That is called a contract not a trick, dude.

If you're talking about the mobile hotspots upgrade trick, and as of right now you don't have mobile hotspot, having downgraded after getting unlimited data, then yes, its a trick. Feel free to think otherwise if it helps you sleep at night.

Nah, it is a contract. The contract allows you to remove a feature at any time. Guess you failed the contracts class in law school. Oh wait, no, you didn't go to law school at all.

No need to lose sleep over a valid, enforceable contract willingly entered into by both parties.

Entering into a contract with no intention of keeping the contract is fraud. Because intention is hard to prove everybody thinks it is alright to screw big red.

Unlimited data was predicated on the customer adding mobile hotspot to their phone. Unless you're a total d-bag and removed mobile hotspot within 20 minutes of seeing unlimited data on your account, then I agree: It's a valid, enforceable contract willingly entered into by both parties. Otherwise, it's entering into a contract under false pretenses.

Where did you go to law school again? Oh wait, nevermind.

Normally I try not to single people out, but I'm seeing this behavior from you in multiple threads. Cut the attitude and start showing other members some respect. If you are unable or unwilling to do this, save your post for yourself.

The data thing isn't a contract by either party. It's contract free. I didn't agree to keep tethering in my plan to get unlimited data. I never agreed to anything in order to get unlimited data. Verizon's not my friend and I'm under no obligation to tell them of their mistakes. They certainly don't do that for any of us.

What the contract states is that you can change your data plan any time. The only restriction is that you keep a data plan if you have a smartphone.

And I don't think a mistake was made - a VZW agent purposefully added unlimited data to my account. No mistake.

We are agreeing, basically, I am not arguing with you. There is a contract, though, but it allows you to change your data plan at any time.

It also allows them to change it at any time, and disallows you from obtaining features to which you are not entitled.

A rep never adds unlimited; what they add is mobile hotspot. If you remove that feature, you are no longer entitled to unlimited.

Yet another non-attorney speaking out of his arse about things he knows nothing about.

Apparently you haven't read your contract. Until you do, your opinion is as good as my dogs best work.

Closed for temporary remodeling.

Edit: thread is open for business. No more warnings for attacking others from here on out. Let's be nice and stay on topic :)

The whole getting unlimited data by adding / removing mobile hotspot thing ultimately boils down to a "time will tell" issue. Provided it doesn't put any of us with legitimately grandfathered plans in jeopardy, then I say more power to you.

I will say I'm now scared to death of adding mobile hotspot to my plan, because if I ever later remove it I might look no different than those who finagled into unlimited data :-)

All I wanted to do was return my Nexus. Sheesh.

I went last saturday to return the nexus car dock, and it took them 45 minutes to figure out how at the Verizon corporate store. It was an online purchase, but it appears they are completely unequipped with how to return something that was purchased online. They had to keep guessing return codes until they found the right one. Ridiculous

Like the title states, I decided to return my Nexus. I drove to a corporate store to return the device. I was told I cannot return the device to a store, I had to ship it back via FedEx. I kindly told the manager I wanted to return the Nexus before the January 15th deadline. He again refused and when I mentioned I never had a problem returning phones in the past, he responded "our policy has changed". I debated some more to no avail. I was handed a shipping label and sent on my way....

Yet another reason to switch from Verizon to another carrier. I don't get why people pay more for less with Verizon.

Since its something they're not supposed to do, that's not surprising.

That sucks...cuz I just exchanged a G Nex I had shipped from Fedex at a Verizon store, no problems. For an entirely different phone at that. I suggest you try a different store to see if that helps.
