And they will allow you to get another phone..... Is the V20 the clear choice?

I had a v10. I loved it until the update which destroyed the battery life. Last Friday we switched carriers and I got a note 7. With the new issues after the replacement phones rumor is the n7 is done. No more support from carriers and not selling it. AT&T seems like the first. (Of course that is who we switched to)

So with all that said.... Is the V20 the phone to replace the N7?

Yes indeed....you should be more than pleased with the V20. The only thing you might miss is the stylus pen & that's only if you really used it at all.

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

I'm also considering the V20 from the N7 or iP7+. I am worried about this boot loop issue LG seems to have though. Anyone give any insight to that?

The V20 is missing the pen, the better screen, battery life, and compact of size over the Note 7. But it has everything else.

I never had the boot loop issue with my v10. But like I said, after the update, the battery life was unbearable.

I can't bring myself to get an iPhone... Love android, but maybe now is the time to try?

Wonder how the V20 stacks up against the iphone7 and the new Google pixel?

And waterproof

Better keep a spare battery handy if the early battery life reports are true. On the flip side, at least you can do that and easily replace a battery that's permanently weaker.

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

What I first got my v10, I could go almost an entire day on a full charge.
After the update, I swapped out batteries 3 times a day.... NO LIE!

Hmm, my brother has a v10 that lives in DFW, and never said he had any issues with his like that. Did you ever reset it to factory as it could have been a rogue app?

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

Hell yeah lol. I can't wait to give this note back lol!!

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

I did a factor reset. Verizon tech support had me tweek WiFi calling off then on after 4 calls. Then they finally sent me another phone. Nothing helped.

If there was a 2nd mandatory recall for my Note ........ yes I'll be bouncing from Samsung and getting my hands on a V20 !!

The V20 does make the most sense as the alternative choice to the Note 7.

I would make the switch sooner rather than later. The last thing you need is your purse catching on fire or god forbid something worse like your pants catching fire then having to run to the emergency room.

Yup, did the this today. Returned the replacement Note 7 at the ATT store after some explaining. They hafd nothing documented in their systems about taking back replaced Note 7's but they it did for me anyway. The I ordered the V20 and it will ship between the 24th-27th. After seeing it in person, I liked it a LOT more. Its super thin and easy to hold.

Did they offer you a loaner? I have no phone really other than a POS Lumnia 640 Windows phone......

If the battery life was not worse than the one year old MXPE and 40% less than the Note 7, I would reconsider. One of reasons I left the MXPE is shorter battery life and based on reviews so far, the V20 has less. To get the same battery life as Note 7, I would need to carry a spare battery, or hope for a chubby 4,880MAH aftermarket battery.

People that use that DAC to drive high impedance headphones, battery life will be even less. Pushing the needed power to use high impedance buds takes significantly more juice.

The lack of dust and water resistance and grainy low light pics on top of this does not IMO make this device almost $900 counting tax worthy.

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

I had a v10. I loved it until the update which destroyed the battery life.

What update "destroyed" battery life? What carrier were you on?

A couple years ago I had a Samsung Galaxy S3 where the Android update killed the battery life, to the point where it was unusable. No one would take responsibility, so I took it back to Costco and got my money back...and swore off Samsung stuff for the rest of my life. They earned my never doing business with them ever again.

I have V10--T-Mobile. I got it used last November, from some guy in the hood who overextended himself. (I think his account is still in arrears on this phone, because T-Mo says he still owes money and that's why they won't unlock it--but they'll happily let ME use it.)

When Android 6 came out, I stayed away because of my Samsung experience. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But then six or eight weeks later, after many good reports here, I went with the upgrade--and all was well. No battery life problems, nothing. (Some people did report such, but the general consensus was that a factory reset solved those problems.)

I would say, V20 is the answer. iPhone 7 isn't, not until 7S at the earliest (never get the first gen of a new Apple unit), and Google Pixel doesn't give me SD card capability so it's not the answer.

Headphone jack? Check. Android 7? Check. All the LG software like Bridge? Check.

And if the unlocked version plays nice with T-Mobile's visual voicemail and wifi calling, then I'd say yes, V20 is the answer.

Another answer might be to wait to see what Samsung does for Note 7 owners. I would think they'd fall on their sword and give you something else, if not your money back.

Aren't they the same size?

Anyway: nobody knows if the V20 is missing the battery life. We don't know until it's out in the hands of consumers. And you can't judge battery life purely by battery size. Software optimizations can do wonders, and it's a whole new processor compared to the V10, so...
