so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7 Is the V20 the clear choice?

It seems the Clear Choice for me but camera is one of the most important functions for me and a phone for other people waterproof might be more important and that case you may want to look for a different phone

Which other phones have waterproofing? Thanks.

Verizon will probably delay to fulfill their Pixel love.
I would agree with you, however that would be counterproductive and costly on their part because if someone really wants the V20 they could jump ship to another carrier which is more important and more costly than just losing a phone sale.

I got by since day one of smart releases without waterproofing, minor feature for me..

With the removal/swappable battery, I would say the V20 beats all phones in battery life because one could have as many spares as needed on hand to make a swap to a spare batt in seconds. With all the other phones choices avail now, it's requires one to run to a wired charging source because batts aren't swappable.

Totaly agree. After the initial disappointment about my n7, I am actually looking forward to the v20.
I'm gonna miss that s pen.... but not that curved glass

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

I personally prefer the transit drop compliance since I tend to drop my phone more often than I expose my phone to water.

Back in the days of Blackberries, I had a couple units that I sometimes inadvertently dropped into small puddles.

They took a licking and kept on ticking. Those things were beasts. That was when Motorola actually made solid stuff that was meant to be used and meant to last.

Seems logical, but never doubt the power of paid points for product placement. Google probably paid them well for a few weeks of exclusivity. Especially with the death of the Note 7.

I will forever NOT miss the curved glass of the N7 and I can't stand it on the S7 Edge...there is no way to get a screen protector on it so it's utterly useless for me at work. I will really miss the water resistance of the N7 but after spending 15 minutes with the V20 yesterday at an ATT store, I think that's about it.....and.....it ran a heck of a lot smoother than either of my two N7's did.
I was completely expecting to not like the LCD screen (being a photographer in my spare time I am rather picky)...but actually, when looking at my images online for a magazine layout on the V20 and then comparing to the S7 Edge...I far preferred the V20 rendition. Total surprise for me there.

Plus it's big and in your face and not some sappy curved screen thing which you have to bury in a protective case and hide all of it's features anyway.

110% exactly how I feel.

I will miss the note 7, had almost everything feature I wanted in a phone and the design was good. A Huge plus for the V20 and one thing I will definitely not miss with the Note 7 is the glass. The curved screen didn't do much for me. I require a TGSP in my construction trade, it will be so nice to find a Tempered glass screen protector now that a actually sticks. The curve on the Note 7 was vulnerable, the weak link of the screen for glass breaks. Plus it made cases a hard choice, they either didn't cover the edges at all or protruded so high at spots (like bottom home button) it made use annoying.

I hope the curved screen vanishes in all future phone releases, I just dont see a use for the design, nor do I think it's a durable design.

I will miss led notifications, low light super fast camera, and smaller sized phone with same sized screen. I won't miss the spen at all.

I will miss led notifications

I think you'll be surprised at how much that's not the case.

The second screen, with specific notification icons and scrolling of text messages, quickly becomes your new expectation.

I expect I will need to shut it off to preserve battery life. I assume there is a way to shut it off?
