so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7 Is the V20 the clear choice?

No, I'm not. The purpose of the test is to highlight display battery consumption compared to other devices without app use bias. It is half the Note 7 and iPhone Plus.

But that's exactly what I said. There are no surprises when you look at the tests and then look at the battery specs. It delivers exactly what you'd expect.

But you can't dismiss "app bias". How well the system operates in everyday use, as people use apps, is the key to how long the battery lasts. Like I said, unless your specific usage pattern mimics the test you described--no apps, nothing but streaming video--then the test is meaningless when it comes to describing what actually happens with the battery in the real world.

These geeky benchmark tests that people focus on have a use, but everyone must understand them in context. If you focus exclusively on the benchmark tests and make your decisions based on them, it's like marrying a woman based solely on a single snapshot photo--irrational.

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

If you dislike the oversaturation and need to tone it done down, why get it?

I don't dislike the oversaturation at all. I rather like it. I'm just trying to lay out pros and cons to explain why the screen was described as "better" to someone who responded "the screens are the same size".

never once have a had a need for a file manager on my phone. even my notes, galaxy phones or my current s7 edge

So then WHY are we arguing?! :) ;)

i already own an iphone 7 plus....as well as a s7 edge and nexus 6. course if you would have actually read what I posted you would know that. thanks for your help though :p
Reports of bad reception and bluetooth in vzw model scared me off.

I was really considering an iphone however reports of iffy bluetooth and poor data reception in vzw model scared me off. I'm waiting for v20.

I thought the Note 7 seemed a little weak, but the 7 Plus is nuts weak. 6 Plus blows the 7 Plus away for reception.

I was in an at&t store and looked at the V20 yesterday... The screen is a nice size and its not very heavy, but when comparing it to the s7 edge amoled screen man you can tell the difference! The V20 didnt wow me... i suspected that... i have not had an LG phone since the G3 which i hated.

I loved my v10 until the update destroyed the battery life.

I'm actually very anxious fur the v20. I must say I hate the curved glass on the n7 as well as the glass backs. Only thing I will really miss is the s pen. I played with the v20 store model...i am super excited. I love the features and I missed that second screen when I switched to the n7. Love tap off and on too.

Well......had a Note 7 and switched to an S7 Edge and I really don't like it at all. These curved screens are useless to me, the thing is so slippery that you really do need to hide it in a case and you can't get a real screen protector becuasae of the curvered screen.....
So....I went to ATT and visited with an LG V20 for 20 minutes this afternoon. It's flat. I love it. The screen is beautiful. It doesn't scream fragile like the Samsung curved screen devices. The OS at a quick take functions far more smoothly than a Samsung.Yes, it isn't waterproof. Perhaps the battery life isn't as good as the N7 which was excellent but you can swap a battery. I can still use my USB C cables that I bought. I will miss the wireless charging ability.
Definitely switching to this phone.

I thought this had wireless charging?

I agree, I love the features on the note 7, but not the curved edges and the glass back. I know I'll love that v20 because I loved my v10.

Re: so since all carriers are accepting the return of the note 7....

Yes indeed....you should be more than pleased with the V20. The only thing you might miss is the stylus pen & that's only if you really used it at all.
And battery life, one hand use, water resistance, better display, better depth of field and low light pics, hardware scaling, gpu heat pipe and Gear VR.

Pretty big list ;) Moot though, since the Note 7 is soon to be gone.

It does some neat things that the n7 didn't though too. I had a v10 and I honestly miss things about it so I guess this is bitter sweet.

That second screen is nice and I love tap on and off. I said somewhere else, if we could combine the 2... it would be an amazing phone

AND Samsung Pay...if you were using it.

It might be too early to call to underestimate the battery life for the V20. One hand use, both phones are around same size, you should be able be to use a single hand with either. The water resistance (Ingress Protention 68) is more of a gimmick, just like how the V20 offers a transit drop compliance (MIL-STD-810G). I personally prefer the transit drop compliance since I tend to drop my phone more often than I expose my phone to water. Not sure about the better display, it comes down to your preference of AMOLED (vibrant eye popping colors) vs LCD (natural more realistic colors). It's still too early to be comparing/judging picture quality. As for Hardware Scaling, that's provided for by the OS & improves with each version of Android (7.0 is much better than 6.0). A heat pipe in a phone is overkill, a phone typically uses a thermal limiter which would be more effective against the small wattage it produces. Gears VR can easily replaced by LG 360 VR. It's still too early to be investing in Augmented Reality anyway, I would wait till the tech matures for a bit otherwise you're simply paying to be a glorified Beta Tester.
