So since I'm using Microsoft Launcher...

But his question was to toenail flicker who said -
"TW is better than anything MS could possibly throw your way."
He was wondering (as was I) what extent of usage of the MS Launcher that opinion was based on. What exactly is so bad about the MS launcher - in his opinion?
To be fair his questions to all was simply asking whether he should turn off TW.

it's annoying to read touch wiz over and over again when it is called The Samsung Experience not touch wiz lol. the MS launcher wasnt bad but it wasn't for me.

I was using the BlackBerry launcher but recently switched over to The Samsung Experience and I must say it's actually a lot better then I expected it's light years a head of what TW was. I've also noticed that TSE has features for my s8+ other launchers can utilize.
You are correct that it has very little to do with TouchWiz. We should start calling it the Samsung Experience. TouchWiz was really bad, and Sammy haters still continue to talk negatively about their phones and referencing TouchWiz. They're way out of date. The Samsung Experience may not be everyone's favorite, but it's leagues ahead of what TouchWiz was, and it's one of the best stock launchers for feature heavy phones (I've. It kills LGs stock launcher, EMUI, Huawei's stock launcher, etc.)

I stuck to Samsung Experience for a while but eventually switched back to Nova because I missed several features of Nova that make using the Note or any large phone much easier (e.g. swipe down gesture anywhere on the screen can drop the notifications down so you don't have to reach all the way to the top.

If I said STFU, why you still replying?
I suggest you take a chill pill dude, why are you bullying this jhimmel user, he's simply trying to keep it chill and civil. You on the other hand keep using language that's way uncool as it applies to all these comments. The only guy that that comes across as a fanboy is toenail_flicker. The OP had a question, and all toenail_flicker did was throw a curve ball and confuse the heck out of his request!!

For me it's mainly the app drawer that ruins it. I like the list app drawers in Nova and Microsoft Launcher. The app drawer in TW always looks like a bipolar mess to me.
But do you use the swipe up motion? Rather than the App drawer icon??

Right now I'm using the app button. I swipe up on the dock to open the bottom row of icons.

Very nice, just wanted to make sure...I was thinking of trying it myself, but been pretty satisfied with default launcher on my Galaxy S8+.

The feed is the real feature of Microsoft Launcher

Well on my GS7 running Nougat, the Home screen options still state TouchWiz easy home and Touchwiz home.....

Because they haven't been updated yet, Samsung themselves have distances themselves from TW because of the negative feedback associated with it. This is why the change / redesigned it to be The Samsung Experience.

And you can't edit the app names. Or change the icon if an icon pack doesn't change it. You end up with a big old mess.

Yeah that too, I try and keep a lot of my most used apps on one of the main screens.

Yeah that's exactly it, I never even gave it a chance when I got my s8+ because I figured it was more of the same, boy was I wrong lol. That's definitely understandable, gotta use what makes your device the most productive for you. You can swipe on the fingerprint sender but not the screen.

Let's stop to "stfu" and other derogatory comments here. We can discuss the pro's and con's of TW, but the arguing has got to go.

My GS7 is the first android I've owned, so TW is the only first-hand experience I have with android. My guess is it has gotten better, even good, over the years, and there are people that had a bad experience with it years ago. So, instead of trying it again, they base negative comments off old user-experience.

There was a time when I was a WP user and would never think about switching to android because of the lag. Then when I did switch, I found out android is really good.

We should remind ourselves that tech is moving so fast, if we tried something last year and it didn't work great, it may have moved leaps and bounds in the last year.

When I get the same respect for my opinion as I do to others, anyone can hold that.

Like I said if it don't pertain to you, move along. I gave my opinion and was shot down for giving it. Read the whole postings and then comment. Until then stop being selective and stfu.

I don't see a sign nowhere about not giving an opinion or relating your own personal opinion.

I didn't know this site belongs to you. When I don't agree with someone's opinion, I just move on, but I don't criticise them for giving it.

Have a wonderful night

Question, is the feed on the Microsoft launcher better or the same to say the bixby feed(which can incorporate some social media/email things etc, or google home feed? (Taps in to your google account)

I think it's better. You can add your own widgets for all those things onto the feed page too so it's really customisable too.

Thank you, that's really quite interesting I might take another look at it, as I didn't get into the whole feed thing on there.

You can add apps to bixby but the selection is limited aswell as the content shown.

Well you tell people to mind thier own damn business. These conversation were over Yesterday moron
I'm interested in the real content in this thread, do I'm subscribed to it.

You can make your valid point about the original post without using the language that makes the thread deteriorate. Your point will come across better, and additional arguments will stop. You just called me a moron, but you don't know me.
You're NOT a moron. I suspect you're a good guy. I'm just asking nicely to please tone down the inflammatory language. It will improve this thread and we can get back to talking about the tech we all love. Peace out. I can't force you to do that's. Moderators can though. Thanks for considering my request.

I just re-installed the MS launchers to give it another try. Thanks for your input.
