So what is causing the delays you think with 512gb?

Right. I agree that phone sales will fall. But just don't want think the prices of new phones will come down. I just may hold off on any pre-orders in the future and get the post street sales again. The gifts they try to entice you with haven't been stellar recently.
I buy phones for my own personal use, not some status symbol, who needs to be the first on the block with one. I love new phones, but these prices (and down payments) are getting out of hand.

Hell, remember as of Oct 2016 Trump was still using an Galaxy s3 phone and he has a few billion. Some don't care what kind of phone they have.

If I had mega money I probably wouldn't even be posting here much. I'd have my own custom phone built for me that is future proof for at least two years. 4k screen, IR blaster, 10gb ram, 1T storage, a gold rugged case for it, removable battery, flat screen.

It would be like the Note 4 on mega steroids.

Note devices, ostensibly, are for power users. To see only select markets receive the top spec-ed Notes, as in recent years, hints at something casual about Samsung's attitude regarding getting the best device into the hands of willing and hopeful buyers. As I mentioned, Note aficionados were asking for more storage and now Samsung is hurrying to catch-up. Some buyers having to wait for two months for their blue 512GB is inexcusable.

Is there a performance difference between the blue and purple edition? Of course not, but the above statement might have you thinking so.

Point? - What's wrong with the 512 purple other than the color? (glances at his 512 blue with smiling eyes)

But seriously, seems to me Samsung's only failing here is thinking that "Thanos Purple" was going fly off shelves. Instead people are willing to wait months for a "Best Buy" blue with yellow pen rather than grab a purple phone.

Maybe "inexcusable" was a purple phone?

My point was some people get a phone just to say they have it. Most people get the flagship phones because they simply want the best for them and they don't care what anyone thinks. It's not even a thought.
Then, you have the people who just want a phone that does what they want it to do and don't care about the latest and greatest.

Also, if you had "mega money", you'd have so many other things going on, you'd probably barely use your phone. Although, a top of the line phone would still be nice for those down hours.

Purple is definitely not for the masses. Even the yellow s-pen on the blue has turned off a lot of people. But, the lesser of two evils for some.
Hopefully, Samsung learns their lesson from this one and releases all universal colors at launch.

I'm just really annoyed I can't get the Note9 512gb. I like to buy in the first month or two a phone comes out then my interest wanes exponentially each month after that. I don't want a 4 or 5 month old model. Then I start wondering about the S10 and thinking about 5g.

Well, Apple is running into a shortage of 512GB models also and Samsung provides the chips for them so this explains why there's a big delay. Samsung just can't keep up or anticipated with the demand for 512GB storage.

If I wanted an overpriced phone just to say I have it I'd get the Apple Xs.I'm the second. The Note does what I want it to do and is one of the best.

So if one of us on here had a couple hundred million you don't think we'd be here very much or complaining about having troubles finding a 512gb model or watching the pre order thread all day about shipping times and flights?

You could probably have DJ Koh hand deliver one for you.
