Crap, that means I have to re-root again. That means wipe all my app, data and config.
Use MyBackup Pro. It works for rooted and unnrooted. Backs all your app data and phone settings.
Now I've never rooted or used backups but system data backups should be different than app backups. Apps are a pain to reinstall but system settings and accounts/syncs couldn't take more than 5 minutes to get back in order.
Please forgive my newbness here. This is my first Droid phone and now my first OTA. It's non-rooted.
Does the OTA update wipe any data? I really don't want to lose my Angry Birds scores. OK, only kidding about Angry Birds, but I am curious about the other apps, e-mails, SMS, various device settings, contacts, calendar, etc. Would MyBackup Pro take care of this for me?
Also, is there a good thread that I missed which talks about the OTA process?
Thank you.
I don't even think this update is available yet.
Function over form. My ugly device lasts 26 hours! Who you trying to impress with your phone anyway? Chicks at the bar?
well i dont know about you guys but the only thing that the leaked update fixed on my phone was the video sound. gps still takes a long time to lock on, battery life still is horrible, dont know what else to do with this phone but chuck it in the trash i'm losing my patience with it.
My rooted Thunderbolt lasts longer than 26 hours with moderate to heavy use. No need for an extended battery. I'm not sure what people do with their phones that cause the battery to drain quick but I have no problems getting at LEAST one full day of use.
