OK. Testing it out a little. Changing scenes doesn't fix it, but a hard reset does.

But does it happen again if you change the icons again after the reset?

lmao. And here I thought it was me who did something wrong.

I installed the OTA update about half an hour ago, and the dialer was unaffected. It is still present and functional on my lock screen. So, it would appear that this issue does not affect all.

You have to change the lock screen icons and then the dialer would disappear...try it.

I tried it and...Eureka!...I'm screwed. The dialer icon is now indeed gone. I was about to change it anyway, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I got the same results.

It does!!! I did a hard reset, and it fixed the problem. But then I changed the icons and the dialer disappeared again. Im just going to make it something different til a fix comes out.

I just activated mine and it said there were no updates available on startup. I did not check manually. Still at 1.11

Just did the OTA, swapping 16gb from evo to evo3d as well, adding apps. This phone is pretty neat

Make sure that the 16GB card you swapped to is at least a class 4 like the 8GB one that comes with it. If it is not it will effect 3D Video recording and playback.

I also have this same problem with the phone icon disappearing, but I also lost my LockScreen. It's just gone. I can turn the screen off for a few seconds or a few hours and there's no lock screen when i turn the screen back on. Changing scene's or lock screens doesn't fix it either. If I reboot the phone, it will be there for the 1st unlock, but after that it's gone again. WTF?!

Thanks Phil, woke up this morning and I had a notification about the update on my phone. But a manual check for it yesterday evening failed.

Did you change your lock screen icons??? Thats when the glitch happens, Otherwise nothing happens to the phone icon.

Yes, I lost mine too, was going crazy trying to add it back in. Glad to see that it's not just me...hopefully someone will figure out how to add it back again.

i had the same problem. i did a factory reset and it reappeared. it's sorta aputating a leg to fix a hangnail, but, hey, it worked. besides, i only had about an hour's worth of crap on there. oh yeah, factory reset is not a factory reset. i still had almost everything with the exception of accounts. even my ring and notification selection were there...

Something tells me they are working feverish on yet another update right now in time for tomorrows retail launch to avoid getting flooded by calls to tech support.

Hope they can pull it off!
