Solid reasons to buy One and not S4

The replaceable battery did it for me - I carry a spare battery in my wallet and it has saved my hide plenty of times. Unibody devices are nice, but the flexibility of swapping in a 100% charged battery is awesome.

Who cares? Especially when talking to someone who's just had an iPhone for the last several years

Sorry, I agree with hymax, S4 looks boooring, just like my S3. If I flash it about, none of my mates will even give it a second glance, and I will be bored looking at it after five minutes! And seriously, I really couldn't care about the battery - as you say yourself - the iPhone is the same - and memory slot is more hassle than its worth. I can't wait to get the HTC One. Although the S4 WILL be a stunning phone, if you havent had an S3. Just not for me.

I would consider 64gb built in, 32 would be really hard to swallow. And my personal preference is to have screen on the front of my phone and not speakers and bezel. I know a lot of people are stoked about the one's design and more power to you, just not my cup of tea.

Hi Folks,
I am in the process of buying a new Droid phone.
I just love the ONE.
It looks so gorgeous!

Can I have some awesome reasons not to buy S4.
The only 2 reasons that look appealing to me for S4 are:
1. Scrolling pages without touching
2. Higher Antutu Score

The only pros for me are Looks of One and may be Beats audio. I have audiophile headphones though, that is not much of a concern for me.
Thanks for your time appreciate it :)

PS - I Have Sony Xperia Arc S right now and it is slow as hell!

If you're looking to buy a DROID then buy a DROID is say a razr.

You won't want an HTC One or a GS4. They're not droids. They're android phones. What Android Phone should you get? You should wait and see what the next Nexus will be or better yet the X Phone from moto

Good link. What I don't understand about the article is that they don't compare the same phones. They keep changing the phones in every test.

At the end of the day though, they had the best quote I have read about tech at the end.

"In the end, it's best if you don't just count number of victories to know which smartphone is better than this other. Instead, you should use this article as a reference - focus on the features you care about and ignore the rest. While each category has a winner and a loser, the "loser" in this shootout will be envied by most other premium phones on the market for quite some time to come. The winner? How about the one with your name on it."

I think a few thousand people here need to read and re read that until it sinks in.

My Bad, I want Android phones. I shorten Android with Droid all the time even though Droid is a commercial product name. BTW, I ordered ONE, excited for the delivery!

I will probably be getting the S4 when my contract is up in December. The HTC one looks like a great phone, but the external sd support on the S4 is the major deal breaker for me. Maybe one day HTC will finally figure out the importance of an external sd on a phone.

Don't blame HTC. Blame Google.

Zoe's and Highlight videos are really awesome. I think the UI on the One looks much nicer than TouchWiz.

I used to think that, but I kept on having SD card issues on my GS1, so I started using more cloud storage or finding other workarounds (in a place with terrible data speeds mind you).

I ended up switching to the Nexus S and have gone SD less ever since, and good riddance.

I now have LTE, which makes it easier, but it's not a requirement to go without.

Yup Samsung is actually going against what Google wants. The menu button has been gone for at least a year, hence why HTC has the bar at the bottom of some apps. And SD card support hasn't been there for a while as well, that's why only the Nexus One had one. HTC is actually doing it the way Google wants Android done.

That's all well and good but doesn't change the fact that people want more storage and don't want menu bars.

It really doesn't mean anything at this point to the end user what google wants. Maybe htc will get a cookie from Google.

Samsung is in a position to do what it wants. There are many articles about how Samsung is becoming synonomous with Android itself much to the chagrin of Google.

I hate that menu bar, I wonder if S4 has it.....

replaceable battery and sd-card is not something that i ever used, but replaceable back covers, flip covers, and better yet "smart" Samsung covers are nice to have.

I really can not fathom walking around the whole day with an extra battery because the battery on your phone sucks. Yes. Travelling may require you to go with an extra battery. But. Guess what? That's why they sell external batteries. The point is that any battery or the batteries on the HTC one and S4 should be judge on using only one battery on a daily use and not if it's swap-able. FWIW....I had the S3 and never bought an extra battery. I had an external battery that I used for multiple devices and only used when travelling.

Also, this phone uses an older OS I believe as opposed to the S4.

S4: Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
Android OS, v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
[source: GSM Arena]

You make it sound like the HTC One is running Gingerbread or ICS. Both are running JB with the One running an earlier iteration of the JB.

Any changes that were made between 4.1 and 4.2 are negated by differences between touchwiz and sense.

That's kind of ambiguous... Are you saying lock screen widgets are negated by touchwiz?
