Some cases don't work with V10 fingerprint reader. Name your case and if it works or not.

Re: Some cases don't work with V10 fingerprint reader. PROBLEM SOLVED

I have a fix for all cases. All you need is some aluminum tape that you can get at home depot. Simply apply the tape on the case (not the phone) so that your hand will touch the tape when you press the sensor. I have tried this and it works 100%. Stick the tape on the case so that it touches the side rails of the phone and will touch your hand when holding the phone.

It will cost you $5 for a roll of aluminum tape (it is used for HVAC ducts) but the roll is enough to do 100 phones.

Sincerely,

Agent1

I also have the Incipio case. I found that if you program your prints without the case on and then grip the case tighter on the side when activating the finger print it will work.

The amount of section I'm suggesting to cut off from the case in solution 2 is so small it would not make a difference if dropped. I'm talking milimeters from the front edge. Just enough for your skin to touch. The case wraps around to the front and cutting off just a slight amount from the front wouldn't make a difference. Also the section I'm talking about cutting from the middle wouldn't make a difference either as there would be casing around the section that would absorb impact first when dropped. You're counterpoint doesn't hold water. 👎

The solutions I offered above work!

My case came in today and the fps would not work tried rescaning fp with the case on and no not .. Then cut a little 1/4 inch spot for my thumb to touch the rail and not it unlocks every time..

What case is this green one?

But did YOU try it on HIS phone? That is the other variable. The variable of dielectric value of each persons finger used can be different and would have greater/lesser affect on the sensor. So it MAY NOT BE EACH PHONE DIFFERENT, IT COULD JUST BE THAT EACH USER IS DIFFERENT! Tah, dah!

I went with the Verizon case, the one with the kickstand. I have no issues using the fingerprint sensor when the case is attached.

I have the obliq and this $5 case / holster combo from eBay. I had trouble so all I did was rescan my fingerprints with the case on. Still a little sensitive, but overall pretty decent. I'm satisfied.

The new Verizon update fixed this. I just did it. Works fine with my Incipio case.

It's a $3.99 shipped case from ebay!

Search "Slim Hybrid Armor Shockproof Rugged Rubber Hard Case Cover for LG G4 PRO/Lg V10" on ebay to find it.

I have a UAG case on my V10. fps works approx 80% of the time w/o usb plugged in, 100% when usb plugged in. Using T-mobile variant on Android 5.1.1.

Just got in my Obliq Flex Pro soft TPU case. Put it on then trained the fingerprint reader. The things works fast and flawlessly.
My phone updated to the Verizon update just after activation. I had not used the fingerprint reader until I put on the case this afternoon.

I thought my fingerprint reader wasnt working that great until i realized i was doing it wrong.. I was pushing the power button to wake up the phone, releasing then putting my finger back on the button to read the print.. instead of just pushing the power button down and holding it there in one single action.. once i started doing this.. the phone unlock 99.99% percent of the time on the first try no problem..

I have Tmobile version..

LG sent an update this morning to my phone... Works like a charm now. I have the spigen slim armor and the fingerprint works like it should

I have a Spigen Rugged Armour Ultimate case that I purchased from Amazon for $10.99. It's lightweight, looks good and offers good protection. My fingerprint unlock works flawlessly.
