Sprint HTC One: KitKat 4.4.2 Update Thread.

Re: Sprint HTC One : KitKat 4.4.2 Update Thread.

I wonder what it is...
1200,

Thinking about doing a reset myself. Quick question, when you completed your reset did you loose all your photos? I have some photos that I do not want to part ways with and have never signed up for the drop box or other types of cloud storage.

I did not lose any photos. I did lose all of my calendar entries and settings though. This was due to me not properly backing those things up.

a factory reset will remove *everything* that is on your phone, and re-install the latest downloaded firmware.

if you do not have your data in the cloud or backed up, you won't get it back.

Re: Sprint HTC One : KitKat 4.4.2 Update Thread.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the whole enchilada of choices for widgets on the lockscreen as opposed to the few, meager choices we have now (on an unrooted One)?

No one is saying its NOT OFFICIAL, The update is official, however HTC is holding off on calling the release FINAL and will continue to let SPRINT give the update.. however, this is why most customers have to manually search for the update and its not just pushed to the phone...

I would not be surprised if another update shows up around the 11th or later

I've noticed that the alarm clock icon does not stay on the notification bar. It will randomly appear and disappear.

This has not been my experience.

Yeah, you're right!
I just turned my alarm off, then back on again and the icon stayed off.

Thanks, but I was talking about the limited choice of widgets in the lockscreen. And now, after clicking your links to the Play Store, I'm no longer getting the choice of following the link to the Play Store directly, like before Kit Kat.

Now it's only giving me a choice of the stock browser, Dolphin browser or the Chrome browser.:mad::mad:

(Not blaming you, I thought I noticed this before and now I'm sure)

I'm rooted so I had to wipe my device and install the update manually and I'm not sure if its related to the wipe, software update or both but my camera is MUCH better. Previously it would always lose focus every couple seconds. Now it focuses right away and stays focused.

I noticed this also. But I was noticing this issue before the 4.4 update as well.

No. The update is official and final. Once HTC sends the code to Sprint for certification and Sprint approves it, it is available for download. Every single update when "live" it gives you the ability of downloading it (user requested) and some time later, it starts rolling out automatically to users.

I would be surprised if on the 11th the update rolls out with a different version release.

There has been a case recently that an MR update was pushed, then pulled due to issues. It is not the case with the 4.4 update as users are still able to download if desired.

so far to me it's running smooth, i have notice that the Wi Fi issue that was in 4.3 still happens, here and there, but not as often as it used too in 4.3

The wifi will not stay off for me. I had no problems with 4.3, but now it keeps turning on every time I am neat my home network despite the fact I have it turned off. This has literally happened 4 times today.

It's the Optimizer, you have to shut it off.

Anyone else noticing if their camera is having a very hard time focusing? I'm not sure if I'm having a hardware issue or a software issue.

My camera doesn t focus properly when takeing photos far, close photos are very sharp but when takeing far photos they just come up blurred. Should i send it to warranty?

I cant even figure out how to add a widget to the lock screen. When I wake up the phone, I see arrows <<<< in the upper right hand corner, then they disappear. I tried swiping over but nothing happens. Any ideas?
