Sprint LG G4 Marshmallow incoming

Everyone has a different experience. Some might be good others suck. I want MM because I know if I have any problems I can FR. If that doesn't work it's on the carrier for adding bloat and screwing up what worked at Google. I have AT&T so a little longer to wait but like I said it's a downgrade for some but for the rest of us it's new software that can and will have bugs sometimes. Can't say its not worth it for everyone.

OK, something new to report....and it doesn't seem good.

Wondering if anyone else who is having issues with battery life on MM is using a Quick Charge charger (and conversely, those who are NOT having issues are NOT using a QC charger)?

I have verified this three times with my Sprint G4 running MM:

Shut phone down, take battery out for several minutes, replace battery, restart phone -- everything works fine. Battery drains "normally" (4% per hour with screen off, obviously more when using, but turning screen off goes back down to around 4% per hour drain), battery maintains a "normal" temperature pattern (goes up a little when screen on, goes down to about 10 deg F above room temperature when screen off). GSam shows "logd" process as present, but is pretty low -- between 1 and 2 percent of battery usage.

Plug in QC charger -- phone shows "fast charging" let phone charge (doesn't necessarily have to hit 100%), remove from charger. Now battery drains much faster with screen off (around 10% per hour drain), battery temperature above normal (seems to hover around mid 90 deg F to low 100 deg F). GSam shows "logd" process really creeping up in percentage of usage, seems to range around 4% (but have seen it as high as 10%).

The only thing that can get the phone back to "normal" is shutting down and removing the battery.

I've verified this with both of my QC chargers (both are Aukey, one is a wall charger and one is an automobile charger).

Thoughts?

4% per hour? Good grief...I must be a wimp of a user, I barely get 3% drain per overnight.

Yeah, when I leave it off the charger overnight (which isn't often) I would get something similar, the 4% per hour is with use (Facebook, email, texting, browsing, etc.). I see I said with screen off, but didn't really mean just sitting there doing nothing.

Got it!!

Got my update OTA and installed last night. So far so good. No issues to report so far. Will update in a few days. Located in Seattle.

My battery life seems to leveling out now that I'm returning to normal use.

One irritating thing that has happened is the Gallery is no longer finding all of my picture locations. Any photos edited with the "stock" editor end up in a Google+ folder the Gallery doesn't seem to see.

Still waiting on mine in Boston Ma. Where are you from

Location usually doesn't matter for the updates. They just do them in batches for the phones. It will eventually come.

Thanks, probably has a lot to do with this refurbished phone because of the bootloop problem I had with the original one.

Got 6.0 notification last night. Didn't do anything to phone to prep for the install. I was demon pressing the update software and nothing. But last night a ran my phone down til it shut off. I have a spare battery and put it in. When it booted up it said update available. I noticed my phone ran pretty hot during the download and seemed it was taking a while. I placed the phone in front of a fan to keep it cool and it seemed to speed up. Maybe it was just me but but during the optimizing apps screen was going very very slow. When i tried cooling it down it sped up and finished pretty fast. So far it just seems snappier. Little to no lag at all. Haven't messed with any "new" features. I'm just going to try and use it as normal to see if battery gets worse. I normally don't use or play with new features after an update until a few days after just to see if battery is affected and response. After that....a kill it with turning on all the "new" options.

I'm in San Antonio, Tx

Received the update last night in NYC, ran it this morning.

Total time updating (including optimizing apps) was in the 30-35 minute range. A couple apps were a little wonky after the update - stock Mail (connection errors), Google Services (it kept saying it needed to update, but there was no prompt to do so), and Doctor Who (which said the app wasn't installed). Restarting twice seemed to clear the issues.

My wife and son both received. (wife last week....son today) I have had my phone a good bit longer....and still haven't received. Go figure. They seem to like it. I looked over the changes on my wife's phone.....some of the changes are nice...but it didn't knock my socks off and make me want to get it any sooner. I guess....what is the most noticeable? (I felt most of it was the stuff you usually don't see.)
