Didn't Verizon try something like that with the HTC Merge, making it a Bing phone? Then it gets pulled and is now showing up on Altell with google. Not sure if thats what happened. Sprint ID might be differant because the google is still there.

It just installs all the yahoo apps from the market with a background. Then with one click you can uninstall all the apps and wallpaper. You get new ringtones with it too.

All these things are - are wallpaper, ringtones, and apps from the market. You could theoretically do all this yourself. I guess it's for the technically inclined.

O, that and a wasted button on the dock bar. lol. I guess if you wanted to you could use it just to get all the apps for yahoo if your into that with one click. The use them on a different launcher.

Since my OTA update I've had some lag and some random screen "touches". Im not touching the screen but it looks like it's being touched and opening apps. weird stuff! I removed the battery a couple of times but it still continues. I had a stock ROM. I did install one Sprint ID (Health and Fitness) and I might remove it and see if that helps.

JERZIE - I've experienced the same texting issue since the last manual update. Hopeful that this update will fix it. From everything I've read, we should still get the new one... but not confirmed.

oh! JERZIE - I've not had to remove the battery, simply turn it off, then back on and those that were "sending" are released and sent.

I called *2 and spoke to a Sprint rep today, he told me that my update should have been pushed on the 21st. I used the .zip file to install from the samsung website, so I have EB13. He said that he could instantly push it to my device OTA, but that it would wipe my phone and reset it back to stock. He told me to take it into a Sprint store if I wanted to preserve my apps, settings, etc. I hope this helps some of you... I'm kinda pissed because I don't have time to wait at a Sprint store, but hey, what can I do?

It also doesn't scroll at all!! I can hardly drag the arrow up to unlock the screen unless I drag REAL slow!! and scrolling through apps is impossible. It keeps selecting the first one I touch to scroll. Really sucks so far!

WHAT?!? You guys are just too good! I've been reading up on the procedures this morning for when I get home tonight, but now, with this, I will be saving myself so much trouble. Plus, the no data loss thing is huge!

Wait... So does this imply that going the manual update.zip route will cause you to lose your data? But if you get an OTA update you will not lose your data?

I was under the impression that manual update.zip method would not cause you to lose data. Is that wrong?

the method some people mentioned a few pages back of triggering the OTA by downloading something from the market didn't work. I've downloaded three different things from the market nearly 90 minutes ago and haven't received any notification of an update.

Yeah, you missed my comment that people with EB13 were not going to get this update OTA... so far, I've been correct.

Not so, at least one person has reported getting the OTA update with EB13. And several following posts have confirmations from Sprint that EB13 will get OTA.

btw, I received my update notification from Sprint about 30 minutes AFTER my update!

What I saw on another thread was that when the phone is connected to the computer is when its unusable (lags and doesn't respond to screen touches) but when you disconnect it, it works fine. I tried this and now it's fine.

But that's a BIG issue and hopefully will be fixed soon!!

I think I've checked my phone about 800,000 times this week to see if the upgrade is there yet... heh.

So I've heard some people say that they really don't like the new text message interface/look/feel... can someone post a picture of what that looks like? I actually like my stock DI18 text message look and I have a suspicion I'm not going to be happy with the new one... I guess there are always 3rd party apps...

Have you tried a factory reset? If things are as bad as you say they are then what do you have to loose..

I did have this occasionally when I'm running Froyo EB13. I wonder if its Froyo related or driver in the computer....

Sprint CAN NOT tell you what day your phone was supposed to get your update. They CAN NOT manually instantly push or resend the ota to an individual phone. If you missed it you missed it and would have to take your phone to the sprint store to update or do it yourself.

That's the point I was trying to make. There is too much conflicting info coming out of sprint. They have to have the worst phone reps. Two reps saying the complete opposite of the other.

Sprint Store

I have had my Epic for a week and it came with EB13. I took it to the Sprint Service Store and told the guy I wanted the EC05 update. He said no problem and took it to the back and gave to the techs. He told me to come back in a half hour. I did and they had reinstalled EB13. I told the tech I wanted EC05. He said they do not have it and even showed me his Epic which was still running EB13. I will be installing myself I guess!

Got sprint notification upgrade coming soon. bought phone 3/19 came with EB13. Did what was mentioned in other posts about downloading apps from market and putting check in box for license expire, 30 minutes later got sprint notification upgrade coming soon. hope it helps battery cause it drains fast. Live in Cleveland, OH.
