Yes, that would be me. I just called and talked to him. He received the update and so far has no feeling either way. He didn't notice or see a mention of Sprint ID, but I told him to look around. I also told him to check the sports mode bug. So far he hasn't called me. He doesn't get crazy about this stuff like I do. I'm stock on EB13 but I am rooted. Maybe rooted users won't see the update. That could be tough to pull the update.zip file, unless a person unrooted, received the update but not install, root, then use root explorer to pull it off the phone. I don't know, I'm just saying... I just think it's strange that no one I've seen that is rooted as received the update.

Right now your the only person I believe that has come out of the shadows with word of someone receiving it.. LOL...

Rooted users will receive the OTA update if they meet the guidelines we posted. Unless something has changed, but it has been this way since day one release with the Epic 4g.

Just read on cnet that the Sprint ID that will be on this update will be less intrusive than the version previously released on other phones.

I just got the same text from Sprint regarding SprintID... hoping this is an indicator that I'm not far from the queue...

I think its just a standard msg that is being sent to inform users that aren't so internet educated as we are that this new feature exists.

Well good. I just got off the phone again with my son. There is a Sprint Id app but it doesn't do anything. I think he said something about coming soon. He said there were a few other new things but he didn't elaborate. He also liked some things like the call controls on the notification bar while talking on the phone. He was on di18 before the update.

So did the new Samsung Epic Maintenance Release (Android 2.2) - EC05 come out? Where can I download it? I downloaded the last update from here. I haven't received the update over the air yet. But I would like to have early before they pull it.

Is it just me or has the phone on stock been acting like crap for a few days surrounding the announcement and release date

OK, so it isn't just me on either of these. It was bugging me quite a bit, but now that others are being impacted as well, I feel better.
