Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - Candy coated goodness.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - The Rumors, Conjecture and Hearsay thread.

Just for the **** and giggles of it I called customer care and they told me it's been released and coming in waves. When I directed them to their own forum...they hung up on me. Silly people don't know their assets from their elbows. I may just keep calling today for the fun of it. We're under a tornado watch so not much else to do.

Wait a minute, SprintCare swore up and down that reps NEVER hang up on customers. :-)

Haha, stop trolling customer service. You know they're given a sheet of paper they have to follow. That's why you get generic useless answers. Most people employed in customer service have no clue what they're providing support for. That's why customer service is so. Lame. Lol

Then they must have a different sheet of paper in 5 different locations because I've gotten 5 different answers.

They aren't supposed to go beyond the given responses for the given questions, but some of them actually attempt to go further and be helpful. Which in turn doesn't always bode well. Then there's the few that tell you what you want to hear.
They do try though, even though they aren't always helpful. :p

It's not some big no-no to go beyond what the computer screen told us. Granted I wasn't supposed to out and out lie, and I never did, but we were always encouraged to go the extra mile. I found that being upfront and honest kept my customers happy. Your mileage is always going to vary depending on the rep. Any time someone called about an update that wasn't out I would just tell them we aren't provided a timeline. Then depending on the phone they had I gave the a run down on how the whole process worked and that generally if it's flagship phone the manufacturer moves it along a bit quicker.

Again, sadly, your mileage may very.

Nothing wrong with you doing it the way you did. In fact, that is by far the best way to handle it. Being kind, and telling the truth is always the best way to go. That is what is going so wrong now. Out and out lying to customers is just plain wrong.

Yes it is, and considering Verizon still doesn't have KitKat for their phone either. We aren't that bad off. Compared against LG's track record, getting an os update this soon is a huge thing. Not just for the G2 owners either. This is LG turning their brand around. It normally takes much longer for os updates to drop with LG. That's granted they even make one. They have a competitive phone though. They won't be slacking on this if they expect to redeem their name.

Please read forum thread thoroughly before posting what you might think it's news. This helps other members to not think you're a noob. And it increases your community credit.

Not everyone has time to sit and read every comment on every thread. Some people actually have a life and more pressing things to do, but still want to swing by here for a moment or two and participate in the forums.

You're right. I'll remember to comment on your comment in about 4 weeks, with no quote. Then hopefully you'll go back to figure out what I'm talking about.

And if you feel having a life excuses you from reading and being knowledgeable about where the conversation is or had been, then why come here? Just say in your life.

Maybe some Key Lime Pie instead. Hahaha.

EDIT: As much as I want KitKat, I am concerned about installing the update when it gets pushed because of all the problems with MMS AT&T and T-Mobile are having. AT&T saying it's a software issue with no fix, and is now replacing G2 phones with users choice of an s4 or an iPhone... I hope that doesn't befall the Sprint variant, I might cry lol.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - The Rumors, Conjecture and Hearsay thread.

Looks like Verizon beat us, you can send a text to manually push the update and there is a flashable zip on XDA, but no OTA yet. How did that happen?

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - The Rumors, Conjecture and Hearsay thread.

Soooooo my ex just told me that I don't have a choice when it comes to the update.

I'm migrating over from BB where I've always had a choice to update or go back if i don't like the current update.

Is that true? i don't have a choice? i like to find out about glitches etc before i decide to update...
