Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka Sprint Spark-Update released.

An update to Spark at the Walt Disney World Complex. On state road 535 is 3g . Headed in shortly to the park but so far it's 3g here still.

Will the Sprint Spark OTA update also upgrade the G2 to KitKat?

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Sorry if this been covered, I'm new here. Will this spark update still let you root? and if rooted, will it brick or not you have to be stock to update to the spark? thanks in advanced guys

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Best to be stock to get the update.
If not, it will break root and then you would have to re-root, for lack of a better term.
Kinda hard to brick, but if you do, it can usually be recovered.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to root?

At this rate, we may get Kit Kat before we get the Spark update. ;-)

You may be right. This is getting ridiculous now. We have been waiting for this minor update a week now...

By stock, do you mean a stock ROM? I'm rooted but I'm still running stock, so will it affect me negatively?

You will most likely wait even longer for reliable spark service ;-)

The servers may not recognize your phone being ready for the update if it is not bone stock.
If it does and you are rooted, it will return the phone to stock/out of the box.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

I just got the phone, traded my old S4 for it and I had CM11 4.4.2 and it was great, just a preference I guess, however this stock system looks good and so far so good. So I will probably stay stock, I just hated touchwiz and was afraid this LG Skin would be like touchwiz

So wait, if I'm rooted but stock, no rom or custom recovery, it will still return it to out of the box when I update for spark?
