seems to be the 1 (odin) method of upgrading the epic... its 200mb and also according to instructions seems as though the upgrade file is already a part of this tool. would be sweet if this was really it! but i cant test it atm because im still on university campus.

Well I do have a question about that will I still need to flash my phone back to 2.1 still , I'm running the leaked Froyo. If I do it this way (I hope not ) I have been reading the boards about waiting for odin and such. But if I have to I guess I dont mind then since I dont have to wait for OTA and a odin verison . Thanks this is a great crowd.

If you can save it directly to your SD CARD then yes. Sorry its been awhile since I've been on Eclair.. Can't remember if you can download directly to SD CARD.
if you download the mac version it is an update.zip then it could just be placed on sd card as i have heard some people are doing then reboot into recovery mode and apply the file. they are claiming great success and it doesn't wipe your phone.
Just installed froyo the way "thepervster" said and it worked flawlessly with me. I haven't been able to check gps nor 4g connection. Hopefully they work!!

Were you on Eclair before using the update.zip aerospacial, or did you leave your phone on leaked DK28?
I was on eclair. I'm guessing it will get updated automatically soon.
Just installed using the Mac version. Seems to be working great so far. All my apps and settings are still there. Market was a previous version, but I closed it and reopened it now the current version.
i can get to menu but what is the select button?

Windows Version from Samsung download site has Odin method inside!
Just downloaded and installed the Windows version of the EB Froyo manual update and once the install was complete I went to the following...
C:/Program Files/Samsung Electronics/SWUpgrade for SPH- D700/Models/Binary
In there you will find the "SPH-D700-EB13-8Gb-REL.tar.md5" file. That is are .tar file for Odin.
There is an included installer in the folder, or you can try and flash it with Odin and it looks like no .pit file is required.
