I having problems with windows version it want display correctly on 64 bit windows 7 . The window is cut off I cant see the next button to move on, sucks. I dont feel like flashing back with odin I can live with putting my data back on the phone.

Using the update.zip file, does it wipe your phone? Do I have to reload all my apps and do I lose all my TXT messages?

why is anybody using the windows version? you can download the mac version and just click and drag the update. zip into the phone in mass storage mode. I odined back to stock and am now on stock EB13. Worked smooth.

Which method did you use Im confused here . And where you running the leak froyo or stock os ? Thanks

i used the windows one...very easy...just backup your phone...cause it will wipe it....but it worked like a charm...i was running the stock system

Would that get rid of the one click root when you odin back to stock? Also, how the hell do you do that?

update.zip does not wipe your phone.

I just thought I'd let you guys know about a little problem I ran into updating to 2.2.1.

when DK28 first came out, I upgraded to it and then couldn't use anything that had to access the SD card. The phone knew there was an SD card in there, but I couldn't view any pictures, the camera app force closed (amongst a few other apps), none of my ringtones worked (since they were on the SD card.) I figured this was something wrong with the update, since DK28 wasn't "official".
Today, when I updated to the official 2.2.1, I had the exact same problem. All I had to do was backup my entire SD card to my computer, reformat the card, put all my stuff back on to the card, and now its working perfectly.

Don't know if anyone's having this same problem, but hope it helps.

yes you will lose root. Follow the thread that tells you how to return to stock/ fix a bricked phone. you will lose your data that's not synced with exchange or gmail.

I'm sure we'll have root figured out for EB13 figured out shortly.

update.zip method does NOT work

tried on both mac and pc
update.zip does NOT work...it did work on DK28 tho
dont waste your time

rebooted 3 times.... it looks like the update took except for the following:

- i can't select any type of setting to adjust the phone sounds/rings
- camera doesn't launch...only foce closes
- no pics show up on my gallery (but they are defin there when i connect via usb to pc)

what a pos scenario....not sure why it didn't work...had nothing funky on my phone...stock epic and was rooted.

the manual update from Samsung's website (links in this forum) using the MacOS update.zip file worked like a charm...

thanks PaulG627 and Ragnarokx and others who helped!
