How did your update to EB13 go?

Okay I've figured out why myine wouldn't update. A couple of weeks ago, I rooted and unrooted my phone in the same day. I did not install any ROMs or remove any bloatware.

On Saturday, I saw the Superuser app on my phone so I rooted, removed it, unrooted, and did a factory restore. I just realized my Asphalt 5 Demo is gone and I don't know what happened to it!

How do I get it back? There is an Asphalt folder on my sd card, but I can't open any of the files. Does anyone have the .apk so that I can update to Froyo?

Thanks in advance!!

The 2.5.5 root one click removed Asphalt - horrible idea in my opinion and not really documented well at all. 2.5.2 is the last version I believe that does not remove Asphalt - that is the version I'm going to try and use with Froyo

Guys Download the Epic4G installer File ( Windows Version) Follow the instructions, Back up your files ect.. to the SD card, the installer will install a fresh copy of EB13, everything in your SDcard will be intact( just as Ragnarok,Paul and many others) have been mentioning continuously, and POW! you're updated, then just Root eB13 and you're good to go :), i haven't had any problems after this O _o so i don't see why people are having them though.

And yes, all i did was that, i didn't have to Odin to Eclair or anything, just Follow the installer options and you're good to go :), I was previously on 1.5 TER.

Pls hit thanks!

Im not sure what 1.5 TER is, but I gather that you were rooted on dk28 right? and you just used the installer and everything went well?

can i use clockworkmod to get this back or is there some other way?

I need to add myself to this, I even added an appointment on my phone to my Google calendar and it does show on the phone.

However, anything that is on Google calendar is not downloading to the phone.

Any ideas?

I too am having this issue. Everything else seems to be ok so far except for the calendar items.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. While the instructions for both the updater zip and windows updater both look very easy, there are enough people having problems. Could I follow the instructions provided? absolutely... Could I fix the issues that these guys are having? probably not.

If my OTA update screws up, I can take my phone back to sprint.

My feelings exactly. I've avoided all of the rooting and previous developer installs of the android because I have no interest in doing anything to a phone I don't fully understand yet. At this point, if anything goes wrong, I can bring it into Sprint, tell them, "Replace this," and they have to. Until I know what I'm doing with the Epic, any slight issue will waste all kinds of time, and quite frankly, I can only devote so much of my time to anything to do with Sprint (even if the phone was made by Samsung).

Where is the .tar file in the windows installer? all I can find are files with a .dll extension or the upgrade application.

Would you guys recommend installing fresh (full wipe via windows installer) or update.zip and keeping everything intact? My phones been buggy and im on all stock DI18, NOT rooted. Would my situation require a full wipe or not?

Yes you would need to get the .apk and slip it back into your /system/app directory. Give me a bit and I will try and get it posted in the Rooting, ROMs an Hacking section.

Goto the first post I have the directory listed to find the .tar file. Remember dump the "md5" extension for Odin

Thanks for responding! Really? Is there a place I can find the .apk or am I stuck?

Updated my wife's Epic without issue. There were some bugs with force closes and lagging, but I tried the reformatting of the SD card thing that was suggested here and everything is great now (so far).

btw, this was with the update.zip method.
