How did your update to EB13 go?

this is the same, completely unusable update they put out before. Sadly someone apparently needs to tell samsung developers that simply switching the version number from DK28 to EC13 doesn't do anything. The entire development department should be fired. You can see that they have no talent, if you compare the software that HTC writes versus the software samsung writes its quite clear why they had so much trouble giving out a simple update. While many people on this forum will defend samsungs 70% success rate on the install, I find it outrageous that they would spend this much time doing nothing. I now have to roll back this update and I hope there is a way to opt out of all future updates. The phone is fine with the older version (2.1) and having a working phone is much higher value to me then having a paper weight.

can't download mac zip file.
dl starts and when I click save window disappears and does not dl.
is there a mirror for update.zip?

Ok...got everything up and running...no problems at all! However now I can't find the Onstar My Link app in the market! I already miss it! Any ideas as to how I can get it?

For those of you with calendar event issues, here is what I did to correct my issue:

1. Go to http://www.google.com/calendar in your computer web browser
2. Click on Settings->Calendar Settings
3. Click on the Calendars tab
4. Export your calendar (assuming all the events are still showing via the website)
5. Extract the .ics file from the downloaded .zip file
6. For the next step I created a dummy calendar on Google calendar to test to make sure that an import would show on my phone before replacing the original calendar.
7. Create a new calendar or delete the original one (depending on if you want to test or replace the original calendar)
8. Import the ics file using the "Import calendar" link
9. On the phone inside the calendar app go to Menu->Settings->Calendar Sync->Manage Accounts (your email address)->Menu->Sync Now
10. If the new or replaced calendar shows up with events then it worked!
11. If you were testing with a new calendar, delete the new calendar from your desktop computer and then delete and import into your main calendar.

Worked for me and gave me a backup of my calendar before I messed with anything. Hope that this helps!

DK28 installation error (status 2)

After reading the post here I thought you could update from from DK28 using the update.zip file into sd root and booting (vol down, cam & power btn) after trying 2 times I get error above. this is a not rooted installation of DK28 from Dec release. Any Ideas out there short of installing using oden.

You have to download the Windows installer version from samsung (200 mb), not the update.zip. Once you do that you can find the .tar file in the binary folder and install that via Odin, it will erase everything though, make sure you back up. If you need help finding the .tar file once you download the windows installer version, refer to the first post and it will tell you how to find it. Everything worked well for me, good luck :)

Not sure if anyone uses SQL benchmark, but mine completed in 39 seconds which is quite a bit faster then eclair did.

ok im having isues. well im not my friend is. he got the update pushed to him this morning and now its telling him that his sd card isnt mounted. so all his sounds and stuff are f'd up. anyone have this same issue? i tried to look through some of the pages but 51 pages of stuff is hard to look through when you are supposed to be working ;)

i believe if you back up your sd card and reformat the card then you can bring the data back and you should be fine. i think that has worked for some people already

I am hearing that Google sync in general is having issues and may not be related to the update. I have a buddy who has the transform and he is having the same sync problems, and thus his calendar and contacts are currently not syncing up.

Can someone please walk me through using windows/ odin method I found the file in the windows installer . So can someone tell how odin pose to tobe setup. Thanks running dk28.

Yes I see that but Im still confused on do I pose to still use the pit file whatever that pose todo . There are so many ways to go about I just want to install this correctly . Oh and only reason why I'm using odin cause the windows installer program want view right since Im running 64bit windows 7 I believe.

Alright everyone, this is to the ones that are on the dk28 and may be rooted or even have a custom rom. Just like Paul said, you can download the windows installer (200 or so mb) find the .tar file as mentioned in the first post, and download odin from the "[How To] Root Samsung Epic 4G Official Froyo EB13" forum. Then you use the .tar file to update. It will over ride your current dk28 and replace it with the new EB13, and that is it. Read the instructions on the previous link if you need to know how to use Odin. It will erase all of your data so please back up using mybackup from the market or titanium backup. After this you can use Ragnarox's onerootinstall method to root. It worked like a charm for me, I will update if I have any issues. Great News!!!!!

This should also help.

I didn't use the pit file, just the .tar and it installed perfectly.

in Chicago area - phone updated on it's own this morning at 7AM.
My phone is stock, not rooted.
Took about 5 minutes for the update, but it took about an hour for the phone to start acting normal again. It kept restarting and not responding, but I think it was reinstalling all the apps perhaps during that time.
It seems to be working fine now...just had to be patient with it.
If you haven't gotten your OTA update, you should be getting it soon!
