Stay away from this phone

Loved this phone till top speaker started to crackle. Bought it 2 months ago and now I have to pay $50 to get a new phone replaced. It's under warranty and HTC says I need to send in the phone for repairs that takes 10 days. This is my business phone and HTC told me to just use a different phone while it's fixed. I guess everyone else has a spare phone around? After talking to a sprint store rep this blown speaker is starting to become a more frequent problem on this phone. Unless u buy insurance be prepared to shell out 50 every time your phone speaker blows.
You have a business that requires you to have a wireless device and you don't have a SPARE wireless device at the ready?
Do you have a bank account or do you keep your money in jars buried in your back yard?
I use my mobile for personal use but I have a backup sitting in the drawer waiting to make her debut.
If I were a prospective customer and knew you didn't have a backup mobile, I'd question what else in your business is poorly thought out.

Can someone explain what this digitizer problem is?
There are very very very faint diagonal lines on the digitizer that appear when viewing light colors at full brightness. It was much more noticeable on the Droid DNA. A lot can't see it, but every one I've seen has it. I personably saw it in about 10 seconds of playing with the device, now that I know it's there, I can't use it without seeing it. I made a thread about it, others have on other forums.

Are you saying it's worth down/side-grading to an S4 because of this? One of the biggest, if not the most important part of this phone to me is the better quality screen (alongside speed). I plan to be watching a lot of TV and movies.

No problem with speakers on my TMO One. But then again, when ever I listen to music its always straight to my deck in my car via monster cable aux.

I guess it really depends on if your device exhibits the issue/if you can see it. I've seen it on a friends phone and he still says he can't see it. Go look at the store model. Focus on the light areas around text and such, if you can't see it, you'll be fine. The One is better than the S4 in all areas, except maybe battery life. The LG G2 has a 5.2" 1080 IPS LCD display...

I can see the lines, and I can't un-see them now but in no way do they, in my opinion, detract from the amazing screen. Also, you have to be pretty close to the screen to see them. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it, and it's certainly not a problem!

I wouldn't say it's worth changing devices. What TomsAndroid said:

The screen on this phone is great. It's not perfect. The camera on this phone is great ? but again, not perfect. The speakers on this phone are great, but ? you guessed it ? not perfect. (Somewhat off-topic, but transparent piezoelectric tech has encouraging potential.)

I can see the capacitive layer's lines as well, but it won't be bothering me and I definitely won't be abandoning my One any time soon. :)

So overall you think for someone who doesn't need a removable battery or SD card slot, the HTC One is the best option for me? Because I want the best quality screen I can get for an android.

I don't think there's a better screen on a phone right now than the HTC One. Just fantastic

I have had mine for four months and have no plans of getting rid of it. I do not need a removable battery or more storage. 32 gb is plenty. Great display also.

Trust me, if you're not pleased with this screen, you'll have a hard time finding a phone :-)

I wouldn't make a purchase until you at least see the G2...it's only 12 days away. I may still end up with a One, but those dammed lines drive me nutty.

I know but I looked at the phone and it has that volume slide on the back. I think I would be much happier walking around with the One. But I am going to wait, the price of the black htc one on amazon is way too much more than the white. Especially since not two weeks ago it had a much lower price, I don't need my phone immediately anyway so I will wait.

Sounds like someones getting greedy with the prices

As much as I don't want to attack the OP, I couldn't agree more. Most people I know have a backup phone... And everyone I know who makes money via a cell phone has 2 active at all times.

I have to pay if I want it swapped out or wait to get it fixed for free. Look online at all the people having this issue now. Not just a handfull of devices

Everything can be seen as a big issue if you're relying on what you see online. Do a search on iPhone volume button sticking. I just made that up but I'm sure you'll find something. Get the insurance or deal with the wait. Your choice. That's why I get insurance. A small monthly fee that frees me of this very headache.

Morals of this story.

Sprint charges you to replace your phone quickly under warranty repairs.
If you make your living off your cell phone have a backup cell phone.
