Stay away from this phone

Supposed to be an ultra pixel so it can in theory be an equivalent to a higher megapixel camera

My wife has a friend who can't take pictures to save her life. You can give her a preset automatic DLSR that takes the greatest pictures and if she touches it, the pictures come out blurry and terrible.

That is the only time I have seen a bad picture on my wife's HTC One.

Ok. You're right. The HTC ONEs camera is fooking FANTASTIC! It's the best of all the cameras.

4MP is really all you need.

Maybe it was just the one I used that was faulty.

I'm glad we agree. I figured the low light capabilities would win you over, once you snapped some pictures in your cave.

I never said it was the best camera. If you want that, go get a dedicated camera because you will not be finding it on a PHONE. But to ignore all the beautiful shots that have been taken with this phone and posted in this forum and obsessing over specs instead is just silly. Is it a perfect camera? Hell no. But can it take some wonderful beautiful shots? Absolutely.

Had it reaaaly sucked returned it after two days

I have insurance on my HTC One and the sales lady said if anything breaks, or any functions etc or the phone doesn't work, bring it in and I will get a new one, not a refurbished one but NEW one.

Loved this phone till top speaker started to crackle. Bought it 2 months ago and now I have to pay $50 to get a new phone replaced. It's under warranty and HTC says I need to send in the phone for repairs that takes 10 days. This is my business phone and HTC told me to just use a different phone while it's fixed. I guess everyone else has a spare phone around? After talking to a sprint store rep this blown speaker is starting to become a more frequent problem on this phone. Unless u buy insurance be prepared to shell out 50 every time your phone speaker blows.
Your mad because it's your business phone, I get it, but you need to understand that every single device out there isn't perfect. Their bound to have some kind of problem sooner or later.

I'm happy with my phone, but it's actually my 3rd Galaxy S4. The first had 2 problems so I exchanged it. The second didn't really have a problem, it was Sprint's fault, but I had exchanged it already.
I didn't give up, I knew this was the phone I needed and wanted.

Anyway, the HTC One and the Galaxy S4 are great phones. If you really love yours, give it a chance. If you want to get a different one then go ahead by all means.

Good luck!

Thank you Star for providing your story. I know you've gone through some pains to get a good phone perfect but.. It goes to show they aren't all good.

Now this doesn't mean the phones are bad... Every single company has a acceptable fail rate.. Every single one. If they could be flawless 100% they would be #1 always... But they aren't so they accept some bad apples... And expect them... This is why warranties are in place.

Trade it up and enjoy! :).

I bought the *one* on the 22nd with Verizon and coming from an iphone 5 with ios7 beta6, the htc one just keeps making me smile eveytime I pick it up, the battery last about double what my iphone was getting. I love the screen the feel and the speed. I also felt like the HTC software for merging my iphone over was simple and worked well. I tried the S4 for a few weeks and the note2 before that and so far I am very pleased with HTC.
Thanks to all forum members for posting answers to a few questions I had and also helping me to make the jump over.

We all have different needs from our phones. The good thing is that there are several choices out there for all of us.

Unfortunately there isn't a 100% perfect phone, so we have to make do the best we can with the ones we can get our hands on.

I'd be willing to bet hundreds of thousands, if not all the Ones have a visible digitizer (diagonal lines). But I'd bet only a small fraction of people notice it, a small fraction of those know what it is, and a smaller fraction yet actually are bothered by it...and most of those fractions of fractions of fractions are yes, on the forums....but a whole lot more are affected, they just don't notice...or don't care.

3 of 3 have dead pixels. 4 of 4 I can see diagonal lines (shows up on light colors easier). Threads on here about mic failure, my friends mic went out last week.

In fact, just about every HTC phone I've used in the last few years has had dead pixels. While I understand this is a LCD manufacturer issue, QC could control that and HTC could choose a different supplier.

For a long long time HTC has been my favorite, because they use good looking LCD's, the EVO LTE/One X looks fine, but I can see the digitizer (diagonal lines) on the HTC One, as well as the DNA before it.

I don't have the digital lines.
