Storage space not released after moving data to google drive?

I have Moto G 1st Gen with Android Lollipop 5.0.2 installed (official not rooted). Recently when I checked my device storage it showed me it was left with 700MB free space. Hence I moved a folder (300MB size) from the device to Google drive but still the free storage space is 700MB. Where did the 300MB gone also the folder is not visible on the device but visible on the google drive?

Welcome to Android Central! That folder's data might still be locally cached. Try opening Google Drive, swipe in from the left, and tap Clear Cache.
