Stuck at 90 degree rotation

Wife showed me her note 4 today complaining "it's been stuck sideways for a few weeks".

All of her pictures are turned and the icons on the lock screen are always turned 90 degrees.

I tried toggling the rotation, cleared cache in the bootloader, and tried using an accelerometer calibration app (but it wouldn't work at all).

Any suggestions other than a FDR?

I'd call support first. FDR isn't has bad as it use to be

I've had that happen to mine several times. I've done a restart (press and hold off button until pop up appears, press restart) same as pulling battery. Cleared my problem.

Resetting (and battery pulling) didn't help.

Dropping it didn't help either

My wife had the same issue with her note 4 over a year ago. This is going to sound like I'm trolling you but I fix it by slapping the back of the phone a few times. I held it up vertical with one hand and slapped it on the back with the other. Apparently the accelerometer gets stuck on some of these phones. My wife hasn't had a problem since. I hope this helps.

I am in the process of making my Note 4 self aware.
