Also, am I going to have to go back to V9, then flash the recovery BEFORE going back to VC, or is that something I can do without going back to V9 again?
Thanks for your quick responses!

You need to be root to flash a recovery and you need the V9 recovery to get rooted. Gotta love circular dependencies. So yes, you have to flash the recovery before updating to VC.

So, I have to flash to V9, then root, then update to VC? Will I have to re-root once I go back to VC?
Oh, and BTW, my phone won't come on any more. It just stays at the LG screen. I turned it off, and when I turned it back on, that's it. Help, PLEASE!!
Well, I don't know what I did, but it comes back on now. (: Whew! Thought I was in trouble.

1) Force flash V9
2) root V9
3) FLASH STOCK V9 RECOVERY (NOT OPTIONAL)
4) update to VC using the LG update tool
5) Root VC using either the manual method or the Control Center

Thanks for your help!
I'm going to wait until tomorrow to give this another try. I just tried to flash back to v9 and got an error. I'll have to start back at square one. I think I'll be able to get it next try thanks to all your help!

Im not really keeping count but how many ppl have said that upgradeing to vc with LG updater has caused this same problem?.....?

Mine was stuck like that yesterday. I HIGHLY doubt that this is what fixed it, but, it was the last thing I did.
I plugged it into the computer and tried to reboot it using Conrol Center while the phone was on the logo screen. Didn't do anything. So, while it was still plugged in, I pulled out the battery. Phone stayed on. So, I unplugged the cable and the phone went off. So, I plugged it back in with the battery still out. Turned it on. Phone said it needed the battery. So, I put the battery in with the cable still plugged in and the phone came on! Joy!!
Like I said, I really doubt that this made it work, but it SEEMED to. hehe

I'm not keeping count either but quite a few have had issues. There is a reason Sprint pulled the update, I'm guessing that's why.

However their new and refurbished phones have VC and V9 on those doesn't work completely because the drivers for the new screen aren't there (it still WORKS, but you can't see anything).

Couple more questions before I get too far.
Step 2, Should I use Control Center to root it in V9?
Step 3, Is that the 'Install Stock LG Recovery' option in the Control Center?
Thanks again! I just finished going back to V9.

You can try rooting V9 with the Control Center but I haven't tested that personally.

If rooting V9 works, you may then use the Control Center to restore the stock V9 recovery. If it doesn't work you will have to do it manually.

I just tried it, and being that I have V9 installed, it doesn't give me the error, the recovery is successful. I can't find z4root in the market. Will that work for me, if I find it?
Thanks again.
