T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel (Update: Bill Credit w/ new plan signup)

Well right now they let us keep it. I wouldn't be surprised if down the road they change their tune.

Yeah.... Verizon and AT&T have been going above and beyond to push people off their grandfathered unlimited plans. Hopefully T-Mobile's future push is a ways down the road.... See how hard people complain from their "If you are happy with your plan you can keep it for life." quotes from a few years back.. (When I signed on with them)

AT&T hasn't as much IIRC -- Verizon has for sure. AT&T even offers unlimited data with the catch of having their home internet service. Since I Gigapower/DirecTV I have been tempted a few times to try them out but then I wouldn't be able to go back to the plan I have on T-Mobile.

Yeah.... I might be tempted if I had DirecTV but I don't have any kind of cable TV service. I have not had traditional cable/TV service in about 4 or 5 years now. I stream just about EVERYTHING.... and no one really offers any kind of deal with just internet service and cellular service.. Use to use AT&T uverse for my internet and TV.. Now I just have Time Warner Cable (or I guess they are Spectrum now)

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

I just wish coverage was better at my work and house. The pixel works with all the t mobile bands right? My neighborhood is friggin Edge if I get a signal (their map says weaker LTE)
Fair LTE means Edge, Roaming or No Signal period. I experienced this traveling to three locations that said fair LTE which was mostly no signal and yes I have a Band 12 compatible Nexus 6P device.

Don't trust carrier maps :P.

I had a chat with T-Force on Twitter and it seems this credit is partly about getting pixel I users but mostly about T-Mobile One plan.

I asked specifically if the Pixel has to be activated at all times. I gave multiple scenarios about using it as a second phone, sharing it with other lines on my plan, etc. I was told there's nothing in the fine print about the phone and you just need to register for the promo and stay on T-Mobile One and you get the credit.

So it seems if the T-Mobile One plan works for your situation, you could sell the phone after registering for the promo and still get the credit for 2 years.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

Signed up on 11/23/2016, need to wait 8 weeks before hearing back from T-Mobile.

Re: T-Mobile CEO has big news about Pixel tomorrow

I got my approval last week :).

I just took a closer look at the details of this offer and nowehere does it say that you must sign up for a T-mobile One plan... in fact if you look at the FAQs it says...

"Do current T-Mobile customers qualify for this promotion?
Yes. Existing customers who are already on an eligible unlimited postpaid plan also qualify for the Google Pixel promotion."

"Who is eligible for this offer?
All existing customers who are on an eligible unlimited postpaid plan or migrate to T-Mobile ONE and new customers who sign up for T-Mobile ONE."

Well since I am already on an unlimited postpaid plan I am fairly sure that this offer will also apply to me. That being said this was just enough of a carrot to finally get me to go ahead and pull the trigger on a pair of Pixels... which with the bill credits figured in will basically be like getting one for free. My wife needed a new phone... and I desperately wanted a Pixel so it just made sense to go ahead and take advantage of this offer. I'll definitely follow up with whether or not we were actually able to get this promotion but I can't see any reason we shouldn't.

Yes, they changed it. I was not on a "One Plan" either, just classic with unlimited. I got my approval text last night as well.

I am in the same boat as Jlangner. I have the 2 lines for $100 a month all unlimited deal they did awhile back (it is a Simple Choice one) and I got mine submitted and approved :).

Awesome! that's the same plan I'm on. Now I really can't wait for my Pixels to arrive. :D
