T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

I mean the overall cost of the phone is still the same irrespective of down payment or not. If you are not on jump plan, but looking for EIP and don't want to pay a down payment you can look at T-MOBILE version/unlocked version on Samsung.com or unlocked on Amazon, both of which provide 24 months financing like EIP but no down payment. Sure you are opening another credit account, credit check etc, but if you want there are other options instead of EIP + down payment.

Yes, but if you ARE on a JUMP plan, that leaves you making payments on your current phone through tmobile AND the one you financed through Samsung. It defeats the purpose of having JUMP in the first place. I really think tmobile screwed this up.

Well that's why I said "if you are not on jump"

For those of you who have mailed in the trade in phone, what does the trade in value say in the return label? Mine says 270 and not 500! Is this the case for any one else?

Just wanted to chime in with my experience. Typical $279 down. Finally got someone on TMO Twitter admit JOD customer with exceptional history were getting the $81 down payment. No more discounts are being given and I went and high as the executive office.

After two weeks or more of trying to work with TMO, I had to walk away. Even changed carriers as I can see the writing on the wall with this move too high down payments on all upcoming devices. Walked into an Xfinity Mobile store, ported two numbers, got two Note 9 and only paid the first month for each phone. Actually saving around $60 a month now.

Makes me want to switch. Did they have 512gb?

They carry both. The 512 is on backorder until mid-September. But pricing is the same as all the other carriers.

caveat with the service..direct bill only to credit or debit card for monthly bill.

On the plus side, they have a promo right now giving up to $300 gift card with every new line with a ported number.

It's one of the main reasons I switched. Cheaper and I can upgrade more frequently. Obviously this down payment crap has made it more costly, but I only jump from the note to the s and back.
Oh so you’re paying every month so you can change your phone more often. I’m not on jump LOL

JOD is just another consumer indebtedness scam.

I got the unlocked Note 9 and slid a T-mobile SIM into it. I'm now getting features that Verizon had deprived me of with my unlocked Note 8.

Verizon is a no go. AT&T is a no go. Why because they strip features from unlocked versions for absolutely no good reason.

I was offered the $82 down thru JOD but opted to pay the $279 down with EIP since I'm being given $500 for an old S7. Add the free gifts in to the deal and I basically paid about $300 for my Note 9. Definitely a better option than JOD this time around.

You guys won't believe this... So I had a preorder since Aug. 16th for the 512GB Blue and T-Mobile said my shipping date was an estimated 9/5-9/12... I managed to wait and not buy Unlocked from amazon (in stock) or B&H photo (also in stock) while Samsung and T-Mobile were "backordered". I almost caved and went for the Lavender that the flagship store near me had in stock...

Long story short, I wait like a puppy looking out the window for T-Mobile to finally give me a shipping update instead of "order processed". I say, let me just call the local flagship for giggles and see if they have any 512GB Blue in stock...

AND THEY DID. I immediately went down there to get it (cancelling my indefinite preorder) and I now FINALLY have mine. What I find remarkably interesting is how I've been on preorder all this time, yet on a whim, T-Mobile had one in stock yet I was still on "backorder" to receive something I PREORDERED...... Truly SMH. Good luck to the rest of you waiting... If you happen to be on T-mobile, give a local store a shout and maybe they have one for you too without waiting.

AND THEY DID.

I just called 2 of my bigger local T-Mobile stores and they once again said No, they do not carry the 512gb models in store. I said I follow some online talk forums and others are saying they are finding them in stores, she said different T-Mobile divisions may have the 512gb but the ones around my area do not so I seems very hit and miss.

Credit card was just charged! Ordered on 8/15 Ocean Blue 512gb T-Mobile.

It's actually happening! So glad I don't have to wait another 3 weeks like initially estimated! So happy I could cry! 🤣
