Upon initial install, my battery life was awful. The phone would get hot and the battery would drain like crazy. Did a factory reset and it seems to have fixed everything. Made it through an entire brewfest yesterday with tons of photos and Untappd check-ins and it held really solid.

when you guys factory reset do you lose and reinstall everything? i don't want to steer this thread off course. but i am reluctant to upgrade the OS if i have to start over again. my phone is tweaked to perfection!

pls note i am on a mac and havent found a good way to back up my android (am of course open to suggestions...LG bridge??)

thank you!

Tried everything. wrote tmobile and they said this.

.The update will be released from April 11 – May 6 on a gradual roll out. You can find more details here: ... 2/4

Mac user here. LG Bridge is superb software. Install it.

If you reset your V10, you can restore from a backup. Just about everything is there.

I use the air bridge functionality, plus the backup functionality. Works great.

ok then if i understand this correctly, the best way to update to 6 is

1. download and install LG bridge

2. back up device using LG bridge

3. install new OS on device

4. do factory reset of device

5. restore device from back up using LG bridge

6. enjoy?

So for some reason lately in my usage cases I have found battery life to be good to great only when I'm actually using the device. I was in orientation for a new job today and had both Wi-Fi and location off and the standby time was a killer yet again. Also the unexplainable "Android OS" which are up 34% of my battery. The screen on time was only 21 minutes and I was down to 59% batter. I don't know what's contributing to this. Any suggestions outside of doing a factory reset? I may give in and do it for better standby time if that's what it takes.

But once again watching video on Xfinity TV and YouTube and actually using the phone, the battery lasts longer than it should based on the 21 minutes of screen on time and 60% battery I had earlier. I still somehow made it through the whole day.

Exactly.

thanks y'all! i haven't done a factory reset yet. i am reluctant to say everything seems fine (so far).

I have been ignoring the update for few weeks now so decided to update 2 days ago, after the update I also factory reset my phone so its a clean install started from scratched scratche. First day back to work and battery Is improve, before update I get 30% to 40% now its 40% and thats just 1st day, everything looks good now just need to remember how my settings was before the update.

First day on the new update it is still running smooth. All my apps that I use daily are running about the same if not better. The finger print is MUCH better now. I can actually use it with my case now and its also faster. The battery has improved but not by a lot. Mostly just in stand by mode but its only the first day.

Finally i got the OTA this morning. Installed it and did a factory reset. My wifi has improved 100% already thank god! That was my biggest problem with this phone. Installing my apps now, i'm a happy camper so far.

I prefer LG backup & restore. Use the SD card as the target and once backup is complete, copy the backup files to your PC, Mac or thumb drive. I find bridge to be a little buggy, recognizing USB connection.

I've never had a problem with Bridge recognizing my USB connection.

Had the update since its 1st week. Everything's been great so far, except for when I swap out batteries. Before, I could switch 'em out & the phone would read the freshly charged battery as 100% (maybe 99 or 98%), but now, it's almost as if the phone can't tell I've swapped.

Turning off the phone & letting it sit for a while (& occasionally, taking the battery out & putting it back in) remedies the issue most of the time, but obviously, it's pretty annoying. Anyone else having this issue?
