T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week! (Update: It's Live Now!)

How does LG Bridge compare to backing up using LG Backup & restore? In the past I've backed up to the sd card, did factory reset then restored. I'll be restoring from a G4 to my new V10.

(BTW - Windows 10 - I just tried to "upgrade" over the weekend from 8.1. What a mess! It didn't find my larger drives, and my programs ran horribly slow.
I'll try again in a month or so.)

LG Bridge backup basically creates the same backup file as LG Backup & Restore. The difference is, it is stored on your PC. So if your SD card craps out with the rest of the phone, you still have a backup file on the PC.

Called Tmobile today since I haven't received update ota. They said it's a layered rollout, from last week through May 6. So, it might be a while.

Thanks! I installed Bridge and trying to do backup. The backup failed - twice. Went all the way to the end then "backup finished" and "not backed up."
It may be easier to just use Backup & Restore - target the sd card, then copy that to my PC.

I try to avoid Windows nonsense whenever possible. Using Windows 7.

Go to the Windows website and give them a call. They can get you updated to 10 without much hassle. They're very good.

That's much too long a wait. I was able to update through LG Bridge the first day...immediately and without hassle.

That's funny; on mine, backup fails to the SD card but works beautifully to my Mac via Bridge.

Did anyone notice how good the keyboard is now? I use swiftkey but I saw someone mention the keyboards improvements and man.. Its smooth and seemless.. I might actually switch over full time.

I don't know about better? But a lot less clunky and very smooth. Its interesting, I haven't used swiftkey in 3 days.. I don't know if it'll stick or not.. Try it out and let me know what you think.

I tried LGUP today, but it kept giving me an error and I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to get the "common" folder they said to copy.

That's a known issue, check on XDA someone over there uploaded the file needed that it should work

Only reason I will be sticking with Swiftkey is that Swiftkey will go with me no matter what phone I go to, LG or otherwise.

That's the same thing I tell my wife. Haha she doesn't really like swiftkey but that's my explanation for staying.. Crazy that it's not about the functionality much.. I got my dad Swiftkey for his Samsung device and he loves it... But while I'm still in the LG Keyboard 'honeymoon' phase I'll use it til my heart's content.

I am having an odd issue since the update. Every few days, maybe a couple times a week at 5 pm the T-Mobile jingle goes off a bunch of times. No notification or call from anyone and no alarm to shut off when this happens. In fact I can't stop it without just turning the volume down. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Could be an installed app that may not be fully compatible with M. Do you even have the T-Mo jingle set for anything? Does it only happen 5pm? Also, make sure all of your apps are up to date.
