T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week! (Update: It's Live Now!)

So, what do you think about the update? Has the finger print scanner been improved? What about the Hi Fi DAC activating with third-party apps like PowerAmp, has that been fixed? Do you still have an app drawer?

FPS is blazingly fast, it worked pretty well for me even before the update ... I don't know what version of Poweramp you got, but for me the Hifi Dac works with the alpha 702 build version

Re: MM downloading, Tmobile

TMO. Just updated to MM via LG Bridge. All apps now updating, etc. Have to go to work, so I'll play with it a little there. No problem updating. Very smooth update. I did a backup on LG Bridge before downloading the update. After all the apps update, I'll clear the cache partition afterwards...something I always do after an OS update. That's all I've ever needed and haven't had any problems. I noticed the WiFi Calling is automatically turned on when you're connected to WiFi, which is a good thing. I'll write more feedback later.

Re: T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week!

How well did it restore everything? Did all the settings and customizations restore?

LG backup had me add my google accounts back first, but after that it was quick and got everything back pretty smoothly... no issues... apps, most of the settings, even my nova setup was pretty much the same...

Where do you live?

Phoenix, Arizona...

Re: MM T-Mobile OTA

It goes out in batches to the phones. Location is irrelevant. I have been here and got an update whereas my buddy didn't get it till the next day and we work in the same building.

I wonder if account type has anything to do with it? I usually get pretty timely updates... my account used to be an employee acct from 2008-2014... then relocated and it became a regular account ever since...

So what day of this week will be the lucky day?

You can update through LG Bridge right now. If you don't have it on your computer, there's a link in today's AC news releases.

well, I need as many of you as possible to update so I can see how battery life and bluetooth issues work out.

Immediately after the update (right now) my battery life sucks. But that seems normal immediately after an update. I'm sure it'll be back to where it was or better.

Re: T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week!

Oh yeah, that's how it's supposed to work.

But we'll know more in two weeks, after the pioneers have all the experience. Will the arrows remain in their backs? That's the question.

All is unicorn breath and rainbows the first couple of days, then the grumbling begins. Or not.

Re: MM downloading, Tmobile

So far it's been smooth running. FPS is instant. WiFi is not cutting out. Haven't noticed too much of a difference in battery life so far, but I've also been on my phone a lot today.

Re: MM T-Mobile OTA

I just checked and no OTA yet. Probably need to wait a few hours. Anyone know if we can force it or would I just need to use LG Bridge?

When you open LG Bridge, go to downloads and the notification will show. Just download from there. Takes about half an hour. Be sure to run the backup first. Just in case. It's very smooth.

Where in the LG Bridge Program on your PC do you find a option as Downloads or Notifications? There is only 3 tabs LG Airdrive, LG Back up and Software update where it give you a button to check but shows for me up to date

Just finished updating via LG Bridge. Total process to get back up and running was about 30 minutes.

I did an LG Backup just in case but have no plans to FDR at this time. Haven't done one following a system update in years so don't see the need to start today.

Need to charge back to 100% and I'll start doing battery testing.

I just clear the cache partition instead of a FDR. Always works for me. Haven't done an FDR in a few years since there hasn't been a need. Don't get me wrong. I won't hesitate to do it if necessary though.

Re: MM T-Mobile OTA

There is only 1 option there called something like check for update and you click it, it will search for update after that it will say by my up to date

I would just keep checking. You are on the correct tab.

You have a completely stock T-Mobile version of the V10 right?

I think the ginnys were VZW customers lol... i'm sure tmo was watching how those first updates went...

Re: MM T-Mobile OTA

Downloading the update now via LG Bridge. Considering OTA's for me have always been pretty consistent, especially the earliest for me being my M8 when I received the OTA for Lollipop last year at 12:28am in the morning, it's kinda interesting how my V10 is the first non-nexus device I've owned where OTA rollouts didn't reach me the day they starting coming out.

Edit: Update finished installing. Waiting on apps to optimize now.
