Tablet can't find external device?

[AC Question]

I have a Alba tablet

model Alba 10''

Android version 5.0.1

Kernel version 3.10.54

I bought a female cable (the cable on the side says MID) and a vodafone mobile dongle

The dongle goes into the female end of the cable, then the cable goes into the slot on the side of the tablet

My dongle is getting a connection....but I cant access internet...in the top left it says ''preparing usb devise'' Checking for errors'', its like this for a while, then goes to usb devise removed.

Im wondering is there a setting or something that needs to be done on the tablet for this to work? Or did I buy the wrong cable?

That's because Android doesn't offer native support for USB mobile dongles
