Err... Note 5 is pretty far behind the Pixel 2, likely much further behind than the V30. Did you mean the note 8?I was expecting great things out of V30 camera, but the comparisons I've seen are not promising. Deal breaker for me. Note 5 is the only other Android camera that is on par with Pixel 2.
It is hard to argue with V30 DAC though, it is a proper audiophile setup.
I really want to play with the v30 but I haven't been able to find one yetI played with a V30 over the weekend and it was fast, the screen looked great and it has a headphone jack. If it would get the fast updates and had Google camera tech I would get it for sure. I don't think you can go wrong with either device
if this was out early in the year, I would have gotten this versus the s8+
I have both the V30 and P2Xl pre-ordered in the UK, still not decided but am leaning towards cancelling the P2XL.
IMO the only advantage for the pixel is up to date android, I thought this was a big (and maybe it is) but after using an old PXL for a couple of weeks I am not so sure it is that big of a deal. The V30 has wireless charging, expandable storage, dual cameras and imo looks nicer too. Could be the goldilocks phone size wise too.
I previously used the G6 and found it a less bloaty alternative to samsung wiuth great standby battery life but the samsung hardware won over, now though the V30 seems to tick all of the boxes.
I may change my mind again tomorrow!

Yeah have to go with what works for you. For me security updates / bug fixes are greater then wireless charging, expandable storage, and dual cameras. Especially since the camera on the Pixel is already great. I mean wireless charging can be convenient and the wide angle lens is fun but not staples/must haves for me.
In truth I think expandable storage is the biggest thing for me with wireless charging the gravy.
