Tempered glass screen protector Oneplus 3

The tempered glass OEM OnePlus protector is crap. Literally the worst one I've ever used because of the fit. Not even close to the edge of the screen. Can't even open things like the menu in the Play Store without catching your finger on the edge. And not even to mention the screen distortion at the edges when your watching movies or videos. Just the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Lasted me about two days before I had to get rid of it.

Waste of money. Skip skip skip.

The thing with the screen protector is every device with the curved display has this issue. However there are a few companys that are making screen protectors for curved displays. I have not used them myself so I cannot say if they are decent or not but they are coming along. This is just not a one plus issue though. iPhone and the S7 edge are the same way. Drives me nuts however.

Yes exactly. Some are worse than others, but it's still not exclusive to one device. Even my 6p has curved edges and the tempered glass is tucked in as well. Not quite as much as the oneplus, but still there.

I put this one on. Oneplus 3 Screen Protector, Asmart High Definition 9H Hardness Tempered Glass Front Screen Protector for Oneplus Three, 2.5D Round Edge, Bubble-free (Clear) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GLSEA1...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5241990

Halo free but camera is off center. Company sent an email before I even had a chance to install it and said they recognized the error and are sending a replacement out. Obviously not edge to edge, but it beats the alternatives. Tried the Skinomi and it's in the trash.

That's good they found their error and are fixing it without you having to contact them. That's awesome customer service.

Yup understood. However, on my S7 and S6, the bezel on the left/right is big enough to where the edge of the screen protector sits against the screens edge. The OP3 does not do that...there are like about 10 pixels to the left and right of the screen protector, which is the problem. When reading web pages, you end up with some text on the sides not covered by the protector, which is ridiculous.

I bought the OP3 OEM tempered glass protector and removed it within half an hour! I've used their protectors on my OP1 and OP2 and have been impressed but the one for OP3 is awful. The fact that it's not edge to edge (or even close) is very disappointing and when fitted, because of the thickness of the protector, you see a prism type effect down each side of the screen especially on bright backgrounds. As well as this, my protector didn't adhere properly to the phone and lifted in places around the edges. Like I say I've fitted two of these things before without issue but this one is just plain bad.

I'm currently emailing OP to try and get my money back but because I've used the product they're not having any of it, so i'm not impressed with their customer service, especially reading that others have had similar experiences to me.

My advice, avoid it at all costs!!!

Let us know how things end up with OnePlus.

I also got one, figuring that OnePlus had more time to design a screen protector than any of the other companies popped up, but man, it's annoying. It stops well short of the curve on the screen.

I only bought from them because I figured it'd fit.

Found a small scratch on my screen (I took off the stock screen protector) and I am super careful with my phones. I cleaned it up and put on a armorshield military and it covered the scratch and the phone looks good again. I was going to return it for repair but this fixed it. Unfortunately I think gorilla glass 4 is rather soft and sand or dirt will scratch it very easy so don't go bare with this phone.

Don't bother with the One Plus 3 screen protector, it's complete crap. 1. It doesn't cover the screen completely, there's a good 1/16th of a inch exposed on each side of the glass if you manage to get it set perfectly. 2. Mine shattered, after using it for a week, when it fell from my office table onto carpet (about 1' drop). Yes, carpet - unreal. Additionally, it somehow scratched my screen when it shattered. Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of this product and am contacting OnePlus right now to see if they will help. If not, I'll leverge my 24 month extended warranty to replace out my device due to this utter failure.

I had used a simple screen protector on my old Nexus 5 for over 3 years, beat the ever living hell out of it, nothing could phase it. Color me skeptical at the build quality on OnePlus.

Here's OnePlus's response to my report:

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.

Thank you and have a great one.

Kind regards,
Novel"

I can't say that I'm thrilled that they want me to make a video of the cracked screen protector, at this point in time is it worth the effort to go through the hassle of making a video, uploading it to Google/whatever, to most likely be told "sorry, can't help you". Thoughts?

Sadly I this is OP's way of filtering support requests. If you are truly motivated you'll do what they ask else you'll drop it and they won't have to mess with it

I like this glass screen protector so far. Comes pretty close to the edge and covers the entire face of the phone(the top and bottom bezels are black)

I agree the OP3 glass protector does not cover enough of the screen. I won't be using it. I ordered a 3rd party one off amazon

Once I get it I will share how it looks.

I've also been running the OP3 without any screen protection over the last week with no issues so far in terms of scratches.
