Tempered Glass Screen Protectors

I have never used a tempered glass screen protector. Prior to this year, the Defender came with admittedly an adequate but not a great screen protector. I am planning on applying the Otterbox Alpha Glass screen protector this weekend. This may be a stupid question but, when it comes to resale time, removing and breaking a $15-50 tempered glass screen protector, depending on the brand, seems like a good thing to consider. Does the adhesive eventually degrade? Is it easy to clean up?

I'm not used to a curved screen since I jumped from Galaxy s5 Active. We got our cases from MP-MALL and screen protectors are by Super Shieldz. How in the crap do you get the screen protector to actually adhere. I hear it pop like it's not on the screen all the way. I've pressed and smoothed till I'm blue in the face.

I think I may just give up on finding a screen protector. At least for now. I've searched everywhere online. Most people have a few they recommend. But inevitably, they end up saying it comes off later, or greatly diminishes the touch sensitivity. I think I may just use my case and forget about the screen protector. I hate to do that. But what else can you do? I did that with the S6, and it did pretty well. Although it wasn't the edge version. I had a couple of minor scuffs. But overall, the screen was fine. And I dropped that a lot! Guess I'll keep checking back to see if anyone has found a viable solution.

I've come to this similar conclusion. I have a GPEL TGSP on right now, but I'm on the verge of ripping it off and going nekkid until a really good sure thing has come out.
Although the Whitestone Dome has really peaked my interest.

So far this is the front runner for me. I'd like to see the video on how it's removed. Anyone seen it?

That's part of what concerns me. Does it come off and easily enough, and does the phone clean up nice and easy after that?

I realize this is just their word but... 🤔

I just have a hard time even considering spending $45 for a screen protector. I wish I could because this does look like the best possible tempered glass protector. Thanks for posting their responses.

I bought one and I'm thoroughly impressed. None of the other edge-adhesive glass screen protectors can even come close to comparing to the resulting quality of this one. It's as if I'm staring at the native S8 Plus' glass. I only wish the edges were smoother or tapered.

When I first installed it, I neglected to follow the specific instruction (or others' recommendation, I don't remember?) to let it cure a few hours. I immediately attempted to put a case on my device. The case I had started to lift the glass and tiny bubbles started to appear under it, ruining the look.

I immediately started panicking, pressing and massaging the glass down to hopefully get the bubbles to disappear. Didn't help as much as I hoped, so I initiated a return process with Amazon.

I contemplated ordering another one, but as soon as good reviews came in that evening from others who received it the same time, the stock immediately depleted within the same hour and another batch was set to arrive the first few days in May.

At 2AM, I was already too tired to remove it and pack it back up, so I slept on it, and when I woke up, the bubbles were gone. It looked like it healed itself. Cool. I went to AT&T and swapped out the CaseMate for a Tech21 which didn't interfere with the glass. Again, I tried to push my S8 Plus out of the CaseMate case to return it, and it started to bubble up again when the corner of the glass slightly lifted from phone. I immediately massaged the glass back down and the bubbles disappeared within the hour.

So, as it stands, it looks like the glass will be a keeper, and from my experience, it's a really strong but not permanent bond, meaning it will come off with enough strength, and the UV-hardened acrylic will come off with it, with any remaining residue probably coming off with alcohol as others stated.

Just bought these to replace my tempered glass ones that didn't work...

I don't suppose someone (mod) could add all the cases and responses so for to the first post? There's a fair few in here so far and most (all) seem to be a fail?

I'd be interested to see how nijonodhg got on with the others he ordered...

I'm a recent switch from an iPhone 6s plus and have a https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XCYDGD6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which seems pretty nice. I'm after a screen protector for it now. I've used Mediadevil ones for years and they've always been really good but they don't have any as yet .I tend to use film ones as opposed to TG so I may just go with one of them...

I have been using this one that I got from sprint imo it works great fits perfectly with my samsung Clearview cover.
They did an awesome job applying it and can hardly tell it is on.

No issues at all sensitivity is fine.
And looks and feels really good.
The only case I have used so far is the Samsung clear view cover which so far has worked well.
I even got couple compliments on how well it was put on and how good it looks and feels.

Well... Strike 2. Gpel let me down with their tempered glass. Worked fine on my S7 edge but horrible on the s8+. I'm thinking because it doesn't actually curve along the edge like it did on the s7.

I'd stay away from both of these.

Same. Well kinda. My Gpel sucked so I went and got a Zagg which sucked harder, returned the Zagg, put the Gpel back on and am using it until I get my wet installs. It works for now, but comes off easy and is looking ragged. Also touch sensitivity is an issue, have to press hard.

Pretty ghetto.
