Textra users on the note 8

Textra is working great for me on Note 8.

The only thing that doesn't work is Live Message. I contacted the developers and sent them some information for troubleshooting. They indicated that currently Textra doesn't support resizing GIFs. It has been brought to the attention of the developers.

Has anyone noticed using the auto-hide navigation bar feature interferes with the plus button selection on Textra? When I disabled it on Textra I can see the selections for the plus sign again. Will report to dev.

I just discovered that's the issue. You have to disable auto hide for textra to get the option bar back. That's the fix for now.

I'm with Sprint and it interferes with everything for me. with or without being hidden.

I am sure they are working on fixing any issues with the Note 8. Their support is usually on point from my few interactions I have had with them.

I agree. and it seems to me as if a lot of the apps I use need updating tweaks. the device is just released and there will be issues. I'm okay for the short term, though it would be nice not to have to use the default app for gifs and images...

eta - it's my favorite text app so far. checking every day for updates.

They are working on a fix. I got a fix as I'm a Beta tester.
In the meantime the menu WILL APPEAR if you turn the phone in Lanscape! Not great but ok for now until fixed.

doesn't work in landscape either. all options still gone and never had that happen. it's the home and buttons at the bottom that aren't releasing from the screen so blocking those options... camera, image, gif... I tried other keyboards and it is the same on all.

NEVERMIND, the Dual Messenger is not what I thought it was....

For those of us that want the added features of Textra AND like the idea of Live Messages, can you use Textra with the Dual Messages app/feature/thing? I'm getting my Note today, so I don't know much about the Dual Messages feature.

Just realized I can turn edge lighting on for Textra notifications. Running out of reasons not to use it....

I like the small unobtrusive notification from the Samsung messaging app a lot....

I won't turn off hiding the navigation bar though. That needs to be fixed for real.

I just got a reply from the developers. They are now aware of it, but where they are they don't have note 8 yet. I have dealt with these developers before and I am sure they will fix it ASAP. The developers for textra don't abandon their app, they take good care of it.

For now, I would just turn the auto hide off for textra only and wait for the update, I'm confident they will fix it as soon as they can.
