The dreaded defects

I am considering purchasing the Oneplus One today after the disappointing announcement of other flagships.

Obviously, when you go on any forum regarding the phone you get a sea of technical problems and people saying they have a defective device (it's never a fair representation of the phone)

My biggest fear is the ghost touches, as I use the phone to do a lot of emailing.

How frequent is this occurrence, will Oneplus swap the one for a new unit if it is defective?

Thanks

I have had two OPO's (still have one) and never experienced touch issues or any issues really.

Maybe get a mint one from SWAPPA? That way you know what you are getting? Just know if you need support from Oneplus, they might not be very responsive and can lead to a great deal of frustration, especially if it is your only phone.

Today was actually the first time I experienced this problem. And it was pretty bad. It was constantly scrolling through and opening apps without me even touching the screen. I was finally able to restart it and it stopped. Also this phone has gotten very slow for no apparent reason. Battery life is still amazing but the responsiveness of the phone now is disappointing. I'm hoping the update to lollipop and cyanogen mod 12s (or oxygen os) will fix these issues. But still I love this phone and am so glad I got it!

Thanks for the reply guys.

I'm starting to conclude that this phone is truly amazing, but as an analogy it's that really enjoyable 1960s sports car you own to use on a weekends and go for pleasurable drive, because you enjoy it more than your every day car.

But I couldn't rely on it for work, with the fear that something may go wrong when I really need it to perform. So I think I will have to get something more reliable for my work phone and then maybe get this as a second phone

I actually sold my Note 4 in order to buy the OPO. I can honestly say I have never been happier with a mobile device. I have no issues with it what so ever. Battery is fantastic, the phone is a performance beast. The look if the phone is awesome. It feels so solid in my hands. The customization out of the box is great. I have no issues with ghost touches, yellow screen, or any other issues. The fact I will not go back to another phone for a long time should say something. I have had the he Nexus 6, Note 4, Note Edge and the G3. I'll never use any of those again. Everywhere I go people want to know about this phone.

The opo is my daily phone. I use it for my business, its my camera, play games, text and phone calls and pretty much anything else. I don't use my laptop at all. I've only owned it for about a month and this phone has been incredibly stable, more so than the iphones I've had before. I've never had to reboot this phone once. Whereas the iPhone were at least once a week. Its a fantastic device.

I've been using the OPO exclusively for a month. I haven't experienced ghost touches or any other problem, except for GPS lock issues, and that is fixable without too much trouble. My previous experience with Android was an S4, which I used for seven months. In comparison, the OPO is much more stable and smooth to use. The S4 had occasional freezups, which got worse after the upgraded to kitkat. I'm not seeing any of that on the OPO.

I have a few minor bugs with my OPO (one of my bluetooth devices does not auto-connect and occasionally I drop connection to Chromecast when streaming from Google Play music). Neither is that big of a deal and are in line with bugs/issues I've had with every device I've owned. I sold my Nexus 5 to go with the OPO, and I'd say it's a better phone in nearly every way. I never worry about battery anymore either, usually ending the day with around 50% left. It's a really fantastic phone.

I don't have any bugs. Definitely have never had ghost touch issues. No yellow band, no screen issues, no restarts

I've read so many threads in so many Forums and it's seems the good outweighs the bad in every one of them. Tax returns coming on the April 1st, I'm definitely getting one. Do you guys use xposed framework or is it even necessary? Thanks

I just bought one manufactured March 5th and I am returning it for yellow lower screen, unresponsiveness then reboots and ridiculously bad touch screen. Ghost touches, scroll up when I scroll down etc...

Seriously? Doesn't seem to be very common, but IS happening. The Warp 4g's from Boost had display issues but it was a hit or miss issue. I returned the first one I bought, but the second still runs perfectly. I bought the 1+1 from the manufacturer so hopefully they will handle it, should I have any issues.

Click, Click, boom.

No yellow screen or defects thus far. Received it yesterday and am so glad I ordered it. Ready to root it now. Woot woot!

Click, click, boom, from my 1+1!
