The DVD to DROID Converter is now available.

Well, 20 minutes later, the progress bar hasn't moved and the time remaining INCREASED 37 minutes to say I now have 397 minutes remaining.

I think it's not gonna work... I'm gonna walk away and come back in a few hours and see what's up.

Depending on the speed of the PC, I found in my tests - it usually took as long as the movie, or a little shorter. If the program is having trouble reading a disc, then it will really slow down the progress. How many FPS are you getting? I had one disc that was scratched, and it would go down to 7-10 fps when it arrived at the scratched portion, which is extremely slow.

nice program, i converted borat but how come the movie doesn't take up my entire droid screen? Shouldnt the application be optimized to make the movie take up the entire droid screen?

Doesnt seem to work for me, im running Window's 7. It says it converted it and put it on my Droid but it's just a 1 second clip all black. The conversion took about 3 seconds. Something just isnt right...

I believe the Droid resolution is best suited for 16:9 videos. If your movie is standard screen size (4:3), then you will have black bars on the sides. If the movie is cinematic widescreen (2.39:1), then you will have bars on the top and bottom.

I did not want to do any cropping or stretching at this time. If I set all to 16:9 then some movies would have that 'stretch' effect.

Make sure you watch the preview until the ACTUAL MOVIE starts playing. If you click the 'I see the movie' on a warning or intro, then it will not find the correct title.

If you did this, then its possible that it could not get around the protection.

I'm gonna have to check this out. I bought the hangover the day it was released and got the free digital copy, but haven't been able to get it to transfer over from my computer.

I was the guy with the endless download. Well, I gave up on the first one. It was an hour and a half in and wasn't going anywhere (still said 6 hours remaining and the wait time INCREASED). The developer said the disc was probably scratched and getting hung up. I buy that - the DVD is old and torn up pretty bad.

So.... I put in a brand spanking new DVD - only watched it once. Transformers. I set it and forget it. Well.... 4 hours and 1 minute later it still says I have an hour and a half remaining. Either my PC is crap or this is just an overnight sort of thing. I can't judge the quality of the end product as I can't seem to ever get there.

Still waiting for my down load link.
Really would like to give this puppy a shot, and watch some of my favorite flicks on my Droid.

wish this worked on my macbook pro.... as you can see from my video thread I cant get anything video related to work.... glad someone is making a droid specific DVD rip program though

Makes sense, thanks! In that case your program is working great for me. Worked with no issues. Thanks!

I usually have movies ripped to my hard drive. it would be great to be able to choose a folder to convert from. I'll try this on vista 64 this week.

Tried it last night, seemed to work well. The audio didn't seem to line up perfectly, but it is very close. I am currently ripping episodes from my Arrested Development DVDs. However, a 22 minute episode takes 75 minutes to rip. A little time consuming. Granted, the framerate is hovering around 14fps.

That is a good suggestion, I may look into that for a later release. How do you store the ripped DVD's? ISO? VOB? AVI?

That is on the slow side. What speed of PC are you using? Using my dual Xeon 3.4, I usually see 30-40fps depending on if the movie is widescreen or not.

My PC's speed is roughly 1/8th of what you are running. That would be the reason for the slow speed. Also, the audio wasn't off like I had originally thought. Great work, and I love the ability to rip individual episodes off a disc, or just the special features. Great work!

I will give this a shot tonight. I've been using DVDFab, but I would like something Droid specific.:)
