The HTC One will be a hit, pass Galaxy S4 for ONE reason..

The teaser already proves that the phone is plastic and has the same body as the S3. It is epic fail on Samsung.

While you say Samsung's plastic is an epic fail, Samsung will be swimming cash- Scrooge McDuck style.

Does it change the fact that they make a bad product? No...thought so. #flushedyou

Numbers don't lie. Samsung owns Android market share. If the product was bad, no one would buy it.

I see a lot of American made cars on the road..... there's other reasons things sell. But I would certainly not call the S3 cheap.

Just switched from HTC to Sammy and it's not even close. The sammy just works leaps and bounds better. Speed, battery life, multitasking... The htc'ers are starting to sound more and more like close minded apple fanboys

Jeez! The thought of a 128GB phone is just insane! Definitely would be a first! I mean, the only other mobile product of that size that does this is the iPod Classic with 160. Forgive me for the non-contributive post, but that's a huge number to me
The iPad 4 has 128GB of storage.

Yeah, but that's a tablet. Easier to fit more space on those. I was speaking in terms of pocketable mobile devices (phones, cameras, mp3s).

Even if you count tablets, a 128GB ipad is the exception, not the standard. My point is that it's a f***-ton of storage, relatively speaking.

Agreed. 128GB is just far too much to be used. They should stick with 64 and 32 gb. At least you get the right amount. And plus there's always cloud storage on the side of that anyway. So... yeah.

Speak for yourself, when you've got over 50 gigs of music 64 gigs fills up in a hurry. And cloud storage can be slow, unreliable and eats data. When you're on a plane, in the middle of nowhere or in a foreign country and you realize that the movie you just bought or that song you want to listen to is in the cloud... Not a great feeling. Cloud storage has it's time and place but it's no substitute for on board memory

Pointless grammatical dueling aside, the one reason why the HTC One will not achieve what OP wants is very simple:

No Verizon. No big four, no domination.

This and htc paid over a billion dollars in royalty dues a several months ago. If you want your money to grow, you invest in samsung, not htc. I hope htc kills it (not going to happen) because it makes the rest step up.

Sometimes I feel like I'm missing something. These new phones have 1080P screens! 1080P content is huge file size-wise. I have a supposed 40mb/sec internet connection at home and streaming HD content there isn't always perfect. Now I don't know where you guys live but my cell service is no where near good enough for that kind of streaming. If I want 3 seasons of a show on my phone that's what I want. I don't want to be hunting for WiFi to replace some episodes with others I've watched when I go on a trip. And I certainly don't want to worry about my data. Everyone focuses on the service providers pinching our data from their end. I don't think this is that much different. To each their own. I am not suggesting every manufacturer should include huge memory, I'm saying if someone wants a lot, that's their prerogative. Not to mention we know how much the providers here in the US control what the manufacturers build. It's probably their influence that is seeing large capacity phones grow fewer and farther between. The less we can keep in our phones the more we have to stream, the more data we need to pay for. I don't want to see that trend continue.

Former SGS3 user here. I still have an SGS2 though.

I got rid of the SGS3 because of how cheap it felt in my hands accompanied with the 'Friday Afternoon' phone issues I had from the phone bought on Day one. The SGS3 had torsion in it and felt flimsy. I'm looking forward to the HTC One as all the previews seem to praise build quality.

Of course, the proof will be in how good the internals are compared to the SGS4. I'm keeping watch on this with interest.

True dat! SOMEONE will be first, we'll all go "wow!" and then 6 months later, it will be the standard. No reason to skip that "wow" phase though ;)

This phone is going to fail for two simple reasons that HTC is to stupid to realize ..

- Marketing should have already begun.
- The phone should have been released already.

Let me explain. No one km knows this phone exist. In a few days, everyone is going to know the S4 exist.... By HTC not marketing this phone from the announcement, they just killed themselves.

The phone should have been announced, commercials should have been rowing right after, and last, the phone needed to be out BEFORE Samsung's announcement of the S4.

I ask you, why do you need that much music on you at one time? 50gbs of music, not sure how much that is, but I'm gonna estimate in the 10k range? I typically keep the most recent albums I buy on my phone, plus a couple oldies and mixtapes. At most I only use 2-3gbs of music and I never listen to it all. But that's just me...

I don't remember how many songs but pretty sure it's under 10k. It's extremely convenient to have all of your music with you all the time. You don't spend the time managing what's on the device, deleting old music, adding new and so forth. When you or someone you are with wants to listen to a song that you don't listen to often you have it. I can see very fast if I anyway own a sing or not... It's really a convenience thing. I came from an iPhone and I always kept playlists for the music I wanted to sync but now it's really easy just to have everything synced and not have to worry about it. And I listen to a lot of music
