The LG G3 has arrived :-)

LG G3 mini review

Well I done my impressions with the Z2 and I will do the same with the G3.

I'm no expert, i am just giving my personal experience with the G3 and how I feel about features & build.

Ok so let's start with the Quad HD screen shall we, I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a placebo effect but it certainly appears to my eyes crisp and clear and so detailed. You do get that with 1080p screens but I do believe I am seeing an improvement, will leave this one upto the individual. But either way its one hell of a display.

The Build, well this has struck me the most, the ability to fit a 5.5" Display into such a relatively small form factor is impressive. The G3 because of this feat is a joy to use. The plastic build doesn't feel cheap in fact rather premium and there is a nice weight to it.

The Camera, well I have been rather busy so not had much time to really test the laser autofocus but from the little time and few shots taken I am happy with the results.

The Battery, at first I was a bit disappointed as it seemed to drain I little to quick. After a few cycles it seems to have settled, it's no Z2 but the G3 is 200mah less and still that shows. But I am happy with it.

Features, well I'm not big on the whole smart notification thing or whatever lg is calling it, can't remember, the main one that I like using is knock code which works and well and knock off.

Overall the G3 is one impressive smartphone.

Would I recommend?

Yes I would, it has the class, that joy about it and the Ui is nice n flat and me personally although its a skin I like what Lg have done.

So yeah those are my impressions, I really like the Lg G3.

i am still under the 14 day ATT return policy my S5 is going back for G3. 9 AM friday
I have been drooling over the g3 since release. I just recently switched from a lifetime of iPhones to a galaxy s5. I couldn't be happier. Was so fed up with being constricted by Apple. But now my new predicament is to stick with the s5 or make the switch to the g3. Anyone care to weigh in?

Re: Lg mini review

Very nice.
I will have a G3 in my hands next week. Cannot wait.

Mav.

Would love to hear a contrast with the Z2. Pluses and minus' of each.

Thinking about getting one or the other. Held off on the Z2 to see the G3 first.

What are your thoughts if you could have only one of them. I have to say the price of the G3 off contract is nice! How about UI? Which is more useful?

Thanks

I'm considering the LG G3. Does it come with a lot of 'bloatware' and if so, can some of it be uninstalled (I've read it can but that could be the Korean version only!).

The reason I ask is I'd be coming from a Nexus 4 (my first and only smartphone) and so I'm quite used to pure Android but I'm also looking forward to venturing into new territories but thought I'd look into the bloatware thing. It's not a deal breaker but it would be good to get rid of stuff I don't need.

Really depends on the carrier. I know on my current phone (HTC One M7), that there was quite a lot of bloatware from T-Mobile, but the majority of it I've been able to uninstall or at the very least disable. Can't speak on the other carriers, or the G3 specifically since I'm still waiting on T-Mobile to ship it.

Yes Lg do let you remove some apps not them all though, not that there are many anyway so I wouldn't let that effect your decision.

Wow hmmm If I could only have one I would still opt for the Z2 just though.

Z2 pro's

The sound enhancement technology, noise cancellation and front facing speakers.

Water & dust proof

The Ui and walkman app is well designed as is the camera app.

The screen is good in bright conditions.

The Camera itself is just brilliant.

The build is really nice.

The Battery life is really good.

The Z2 Cons

Can't personally think of anything I don't like or that annoys me enough I would mark it a con.

Lg G3's Pros

The screen is pin sharp and clarity is smooth like silk.

The Design itself is great and to fit a 5.5" screen into this firm factor is impressive.

The Ui I like its a skin obviously but not one that is obtrusive and garish or that hinders performance.

The focus speed with the laser autofocus is fast.

Battery life is a point above average its better than the Nexus, but not on par with my only comparisons the Note 3 or the Z2.

But its not in the poor category.

The Knock code is a great feature.

And overall performance is great.

Calls are crisp and clear.

Rear buttons are nice and feel clicky and well constructed.

Cons..

The battery could have been better or larger would have been great say a 3500mah would have done nicely.

So that is that.

Lg G3 or Sony Xperia Z2..

I have the best of both and I'm happy with both phones.

But I would still opt for the Z2, but not taking anything away from the G3 it's one great smartphone :-)

There is no doubt in my mind that you will all enjoy the G3.

The impatience will be kicking in, that just makes unboxing the G3 and getting your hands on it even better lol

Enjoy it :-)

Sounds good, thanks Eric.
And Duncan I won't let it sway me, I'm eager to try something new.
Thanks lads.

Darn. I was hoping you would say the G3 trounces the Z2 lol!

I pulled the trigger on an ATT version hours ago. I plan to put it through its paces in the 14 day return period. Still checking swappa for mint Z2's though...;)

They are both different phones and I rate the G3 highly. Just my personal preference is the features on the Z2.

The G3 which I'm still using and liking very much, while my Z2 is lying around although I will be reverting back, its great to alternate.

You won't be disappointed with the G3, but if you can have both then like me you will be extremely content :-)

Yeah I don't like to repeat is annoying for others and myself lol :-p

I did get a bit carried away when I purchased my Z2, and posted madly over in the Z2 forum.

I have matured since then though :-p

Let your neighbor here in Allen know how the AT&T lg g3 is, especially call quality, battery, signal strength and smoothness.
Cheers

Will do. I thought about just picking one up Friday but I usually preorder or order online. I can then get it delivered at home and go to my home office and have a great unboxing experience! Lol!
