The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Hey well not really when web browsing, watching videos it can get warm but never hot. Strange as I have been watching quite a lot of YouTube vids and temperature has been fine today.

That's good, my S4 only gets hot on heavy browsing, nothing else, but can live with with it.
I'm no hurry to jump ship yet on getting the G3, I'm new on Verizon, started contract May 6th this year, had Sprint, did not like Sprint. Better coverage for me and signal.

Re: Why can't I get the Amazon app?

I noticed this, too, on my T-Mobile G3. The Up by Jawbone app isn't compatible, either. Those are the only two I've found so far.

Not quite as good as my Z2 but decent.

Why do people complain about the bundled headphones? If you're expecting something better than the $9.99 jellies in the store, think again. Then go spend real money on your headphones, you get what you pay for. ;)

So, has anyone plugged some SOL Republics or Sennheisers or other high-end headphones into a G3 yet?

So having spent a couple of days with the G3 I must say I am more than happy :-)

The Build is stunning great use of plastic, it really doesn't feel cheap. The design is impressive and those tiny bezels are incredible. How Lg have fitted a 5.5" quad HD screen into such a small form factor is mindblowing, so comfortable to use.

The Knock code just works and for me is a better idea than a scanner, but each to their own right?

Not spent much time with the Camera, have taken a few pics and I'm happy with the results.

Battery life I thought was average at best, however after a couple of drains to near zero, it has settled nicely.

The quad beat headphones are poor, but I am going to order some RHA's to cure that niggle.

Overall I really like the G3 and I'm sure that those who have placed their order will be as happy as I am.

Well that battery life is a deal breaker for me imo. One of the reasons I got a note 3 is because of battery life. Thanks for the review. Now I can feel good in waiting for the note 4 :)

Hopefully you mean thanks for this ONE review. Battery life is a topic on its own that should be researched. It all depends on use, cycles, and environment (tempature HAS AN EFFECT). Each user is different, you would NEVER purchase a phone based on my battery life than (I'm a heavy user with an hour average of gaming, two hours browsing, music for 1-3 hours and Netflix at night.

I am a heavy user with about 4 - 6 hours of screen time in my note 3

Don't take this wrong. But I keep seeing times like this and I just can't get my head around it. I don't think I could even have my screen on 6 hours a day. Maybe if I had it on the whole lunch hour. Then after work, I could ignore the wife and kids and sit on the couch and stare at the phone until bed time which i guess could be 5 hours. But I have plugs there.

Even on nights out with friends, if I totally ignore them at dinner, drinks, ect. I might could hit 5 hours sitting in a corner at the bar.

Diffrent strokes for folks I guess. I just find it hard to understand being able to do nothing for hours a day which also happens to be somewhere with no electricity.

I use it to and from work which takes about an hour to work and an hour or 2 back home. I use it maybe an hour total during work and then maybe an hour or 2 in home.

Ah ok. Didn't think about long commute times. With qi in the car and at work I just plop my phone down with out thinking about it.

Need to avoid the pads and actually see how long my screen would be on with no charging if I did that.

I would guess 30 min to and from work. Maybe 30 or 40 min at lunch. Checking randomly during the day I'd be close to 4 maybe. Going out after work for the night I could see maybe another hour pushing it to 5 or so.

I'll have to test it. And try not to absently minded drop it on the pad out of habit.

When you say the battery has "settled nicely" do you mean that as it broke in or whatever it does that it started lasting longer?

Some people like to not pay for headphones specially if there free... The Samsung ones are pretty good considering they are free

Just to clarify it was not a complaint as I am well aware I can purchase other headphones. I just thought I was worth a mention as some like to use the supplied headphones or can't afford to spend X amount on new ones. It was just part of a mini review.

As for the battery settling yes I'm no expert but I believe it has to go through a couple of cycles?

I find it to be not to bad, I heavy browse the web (reading articles) watching YouTube videos and listen to music.

It will vary but you won't be rushing for a wall socket and the battery is replaceable.

With the extra 200mah on the Z2 I can get up to 7hours of screen on time, but 4 and a half is good enough for me and booby McGee.

Candy Crush? Amazon? Wow, I'm kinda regretting jumping ship. I thought a FLAGSHIP would at least be compatible with everything..

Its not the phone, app developers list what thier apps are compatable with. So they need to list it. With the s5 prime, oppo 7, note 4 ect all coming with this resolution they will sort it out.

In the meantime you can side load the amazon app store and apps you want and they work fine (if the developer coded thier scaling correctly).

Still, coming from something that just works, fast and efficiently its still a disappointment. Oh well, at least there's a solution! Better than nothing right?

Well I've been on the forums ~ 1 hour today via phone; ~45 minutes on lunch break. I say I gets a solid 4-5 hours of screen time, w/ almost two hours of streaming HD Video, and about an hour of Gaming. That contributes.

Re: Lg G3 Battery Life.

thanks for the feedback, what percentage of brightness did you have it on?
