The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: Why can't I get the Amazon app on LG G3?

I'm trying to figure out what you guys are talking about... I have the Tmobile G3 and mine even came pre loaded with the Amazon app.... O.0

The AT&T version doesn't come with the app loaded, and isn't available to download in the Play store.

As mentioned, it can be installed via Amazon Appstore (or other methods).

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

Then when you buy a device with an 805/808/810, the 810/813/815 chips will be around the corner and so on and so forth lol

The difference being that the 801 wasn't meant to run such high a resolution. Those chips will. Obviously there is always something new around the corner, but lg could have waited and launched it with 805 and most likely the lag people are seeing would have been gone

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

The M8 wouldn't be a bad phone if the camera didn't totally blow. After using the m8, gs5, and g2, the g3 is better than all of them. I was a Samsung galaxy guy for a long time but they really dropped the back with the gs5 and just came out with something because it had been a year and they knew it would sell. Bit a bad phone at all, the gs5, and I bought one but not much better than the s4. The g3 is great so far. 3 GB ran and 32 GB storage was enough to switch. The rest is cake.

You obviously have a valid point and I agree that it should have shipped with the 805 SOC.

However the 801 is not hindering performance to the point its annoying, I have very very slight lag and as I have previously mentioned will be fixed in an update I'm sure or with Android L.

I agree that it most likely will be fixed with an update and who knows how long it will take lg to update to android l once it launches. Lg has my attention, going to wait a couple weeks and see if any other issues pop up.

What lag?

Posted via Android Central App

Some not all are experiencing what is being called micro lag (quite apt lol).

I experience this in the app drawer but its very very minimal and last a mere second and settles.

This will get fixed, and I'm sure Lg will want to keep this G3 updated :-)

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

Why would I want a G3 with an 805 in 4 or 5 months (if it ever materializes) when 6 months after that the G4 will be out with 64bit processor or whatever the latest it. This will hold me for 12 months just fine :) I seriiously could have waited with my G2 for another year it's that good still.

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

Yeah, you wanna talk lag, on my stock G2, I have folders set up in my app drawer to group apps like financials and games, etc. When going into the app drawer for first time after a reboot, it will lag for it seems a couple of seconds before it loads. I think it doesnt do it if I didnt have folders but that's a serious lag. but otherwise it runs smooth and fast everywhere else. But I still don't think the UI was as fast as my Nexus 4 with barebones kitkat. nothings perfect but not a dealbreaker.

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

Switch from Dalvik to ART, and tell me about how much lag you don't have anymore.... First thing I did. This phone is FLIPPIN' amazing, and will only get better with updates.

Re: Most LG G3 buyers seem happy :-)

Don't any of you guys use cases? I don't even know what any phone I've ever owned feels like. I just know what the case feels like!

Nope. Never use a case. Hate them all. I've tried different styles, they all last for about a day, then I go back to no case. Never had a problem.

Can someone check if google maps compass mode works in your car with a g3? It takes at least 15 minutes. Sometimes it works for 10 minutes but then map turns sideways not direction you're headed

I'm liking this phone more and more as I use it.

M7 is feeling smaller and smaller as I use the G3 as well

Exactly. This phone will suit me fine until the G4 with an 810 comes out next year.

My Final and overall view on the G3.

I like others have now spent just over a week with the G3.

What I have found impressive is the screen (despite what others may say) it is a beauty. OK so big argument that our optics can't distinguish anything past 300 pixels, and that between 1080 and Quad HD there won't be any difference. Yes it may be hard to tell and what I may be experiencing could be a placebo effect, but I have noticed a difference that may be slight, but its there and its enjoyable.

The build and design of the G3 is one that I praise Lg for, they could have opted for an all metal design as public pressure is pushing for that. However Lg held on and what they have produced is something pleasing to hold and to the eyes. This is why along with fitting the 5.5" into this form factor they have placed time and thought into it.

They had to get it right and they did.

The Ui while a skin and it won't be to everyone's liking (that is OK, nova, apex ect) they have really tried to make the design more appealing and yeah for the most part they have done a real good job.

The Camera is one that lg have also gave time and consideration to, with the fast laser autofocus, the ois+ and the bare bones app itself. Depending in the above features to capture that quality picture, again whew they got it right again.

Battery life, they could have opted for a 3500mah but this one does the job and nicely, and lg have made it removable so it can be swapped out, if the one you have over the period doesn't hold charge then swap it. This adds to the longevity of the G3.

The Features like Knock on, Knock Code, smart cleaning, dual window, guest mode, and some battery saving options are useful.

I have found my week with the G3 a good one and yes many will be awaiting for the N4 to see what that brings, oh it will be good that I'm sure of.

But am I disappointed that I pulled the trigger and purchased the G3?

No not one regret I find the G3 a joy to use.

Re: My Final and overall view on the G3.

My findings are very similar to yours just five days in and I shall be adding a brief conclusion to my own thread in due course...I'll have to add a brief camera comparison I suppose, because I've got a Lumia 1020. But yes, the G3 is wonderful stuff.

I know it can be annoying multiple threads, but I wanted this to be a fresh and a conclusion lol

My last one obviously lol

I can't disagree with what's been put above...I have both the G3 and Sony Z2.
I'm not sure I can split them.
I keep seeing people comparing the battery life, yes the Z2 is better but take into consideration if you're a heavy user you can have a spare battery or two tucked away quite easily in your pocket with the G3.
The other thing to note is that the G3 has had no firmware upgrades as of yet and I'm sure as time goes on these will correct some of the niggles.
I rarely keep a phone longer than a few months but I'm hoping the G3 stays longer than most.
I wouldn't be surprised if in a Year's time people are saying what a great handset the G3 is as they are currently doing with the G2

I share this as I also have the Z2 and both are great for different reasons.

I'm sure that the real tech enthusiasts will see the value and appreciation of the G3.

Even if the G3 is not quite for them.
